You are of course entitled to your views but you must realise that this is a moneysaving site. If members find that a generic scam wherey unenforcable begging letters are sought to be passed off as legally binding charges naturally they will warn others.
The result is that tens of thousands are better off in that they have money in their pocket as opposed to that of some dodgy chancer. Ignoring works a treat and doing court is not a sustainable option. If you claim not to know this then you are not being truthful. The PPC rip off merchants have only themseles to blame if like the clampers they kill the golden goose. There may be a fair and ethical PPC out there but I strongly doubt it.

Yeah right, PPC guy, you're all heart. Here's my suggestion - all PPcs accept the inevitable, repent of their past wayward behaviour and find a living that does not involve leeching off the backs of people who work hard.
The reality is that this will happen anyway in due course, in an involuntary way. 40% do not pay now, do the maths. These 40% will tell their friends and neigbours and soon it will be 50%, 60%, 70%. There will be a point at which the business will not be sustainable. and MSE and the other moneysaving sites will take a big bow and move on to the next purveyors of the fast one.0 -

You are no doubt learning fast that more and more people are getting aware of PPC scam's. That's why you come on here to try and justify sending a scam invoice to someone who erroneously parks two inch over a line charging £60 or more. Yes, PPC's have done that.
Just look at all the new poster's looking for help, it is bound to be hitting you in the till, look at all the view's, most are probably of people who don't even post. But they get the message.
DO NOT PAY A PRIVATE PARKING INVOICE.
PPC day's are numbered, as you are fast finding out.0 -
It comes down to fully managed car parks where you earn your income from the retailers, and not the customers of car parks, you ticket cars that abuse car parks, the profits you make in a pay and display is shared.
I would suggest that any appeals are sent not to the ppc, but to the retailer directly, they who have no financial gain in it, the profits from that should be given to charity after an admin fee is taken out. The bogus threats via debt collectors should cease, and if an appeal is turned down it should directly to the small claims, I am sure a real lba can be issued without the rubbish spouted.Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0 -
Ok and who is funding this national developement of barriers and bollards?
did you not read the post?Sir_Roger_deLodger wrote: »Its quite simple. Supermarkets and retail parks can have barriers with a system such as pay to enter/get refund in store, or exit tokens available in the store which are free provided you buy something.
Work or residential car parks can have a barrier with swipe cards for authorised users, or lockable bollards with keys for authorised users.
PPCs are not required full stop.0 -
The PPC's have killed / killing themselves off because of greed.
it is a scam and more people are becoming aware of it, just like the
telephone rip off scam using 0843 0844 0870 and 0871 numbers,
(https://www.saynoto0870.com) PEOPLE ARE WAkING UP TO SCAMS FASTER NOW.
I wonder what the next SCAM will be?ORIGINAL MORTGAGE AMOUNT £106,454.00 (Started Sept 2007)
NOV 2021 O/S AMOUNT £1,694.41 OUR DEBT REDUCED BY £104,759.59 by std regular, over-payments & off-setting.

As i already stated i would rather make all my money from P+D machines. They are free after the intial payback period so it is pure profit involves no man hours and no face to face confrontation of any form.
There is no appeal process and no need to appeal with a P+D machine because you stay for how long you pay for if you overstay by a certain amount its down to possible delays but overstay longer than that your taking the pi$$ and deserve to be ticketed.
The worse people are those who go out of their way to park and not display a ticket. This is pointless as its only X per hour and a lot less than the tickets.
The tickets should be government regulated. Down to free sites cannot be patrolled other than for the purpose of disabled bays.
By free sites i mean all sites on for example retail parks where there is no need to pay but maximum times are imposed.
There should also be a barrier system at these sites where your ticket is validated in stores when you spend so for example for every £10 you spend an hour is validated (or another figure which after due deliberation was seen fair to shoppers but unfair to travellers. This would stop the issue of commuters abusing the free car parks to avoid the fee charged at the train station or other nearby p+D site.
(Please note the £10 is an imaginary figure and i am not saying if you parked for 6 hours you would need to spend £60 to get let out but its a system that with due care and diligence could be created in a manner that woujld work appropiately.)
With regards to the appeals i would be interested in setting up, alongside anyone on here who is interested, an individual appeals service for civil parking tickets and before anyone cries about me being biased i am only biased towards my tickets and even then i am leniant. The service would have strict outline rules for appeals. Issues such as parking accross 2 bays at 11:30pm on a sunday night in the middle of a snow storm would clearly be an appeal as this is not management b ut indeed punishment.
If anybody is interested in looking into this further then please do PM me. Roger,
I was refering to small sites is a single shop with 2/3 spaces when i meant about cost implications . The post above clearly says retail parks. These sties have shoppig giants so the cost would be no issueHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. PPCs will never be able to legitimise their begging letters. Within 2 years the tipping point of public awareness will have been reached and the business will not be economic. No doubt the PPCs will then move on to some other dodgy practice.
There is already an independent appeal in place called the county court. It is just that PPCs don't face their chances given that the whole industry is effectively a giant fast one.0
