Another question for you, how do you get a contract for a site ? Advertising, being approached by the retailers or landowner? You approaching them? Do you listen to what the retailers say when you are dealing with the landowner ? And what is the cut in a free car park between you/retailers/landowners

    Thanks
contracts can be obtained in a range of methods. Council contracts you have to apply for and that is a pain in the A**
Some sites will contact me after seeing my igns elsewhere.
Other sites that i have a direct interest in (sites near football staiudms or airports for example i will contact to either rent the whole site from them or make an arrangement wherebey i rent the site on certain days (saturdays and wednesday nights for footy)

The cut on a free site is purely enforcement based and differing amounts go back to the retailer.

But as you can't 'enforce' anything - surely this is a bit of a gamble?

There still seem to be a fair number of gullible souls taken in by cowboy PPCs who will intimidate people into paying

All one can hope for is that more people become aware of the fact that they are under no obligation to pay.

Are your signs custom made to suit the requirements of the individual site.
  • Can't be a**ed to follow this thread from now, its just gone down the tubes.
I agree, we have a PPC rep who refuses to identify his company (by the way the PM stuff about receiving stuff through the post is almost as big a fairytale as most of his posts). When he is challenged he strikes out at anyone who deigns to disagree.

If this is the BPA trying to change the tenor of the debate a la the last AOS meeting, it is not working. The reality is that as has been said earlier PPC enforcement is a solution in search of a problem. PPCs operate a generic scam which seeks to take advantage of people's awareness that they must pay local authority tickets and uses a whole series of tricks and deceptions to try to fool the public . As with clampng it has nothing to do with genuine parking enforcement in the vast majority of cases, but is solely concerned with making money by issuing a series of threatening begging letters. It is a money making exercise run in the main by barrow boy spivs. That is the reality, not the fantasy PPCland spun by our nameless friend.

Yes and no. We have generic signs that are used for about 75% of our sites. They have a bit that we change to suit no parking/permits or whatever.

Then we also have some sites that want different things on the signs and they are custom made.

Peter knows my identity. (well that of my company)
And the thing in the PM was the truth. I got some paper with www.neverpayagain.co.uk - The slaves are waking on it. This was sent to my HOME address after i posted on the net what company i worked for.

  • Why does it bother you so much PPC guy that you post on here? I am interested in what you are hoping to achieve. You are of course entitled to your views but you must realise that this is a moneysaving site. If members find that a generic scam wherey unenforcable begging letters are sought to be passed off as legally binding charges naturally they will warn others.

The result is that tens of thousands are better off in that they have money in their pocket as opposed to that of some dodgy chancer. Ignoring works a treat and doing court is not a sustainable option. If you claim not to know this then you are not being truthful. The PPC rip off merchants have only themseles to blame if like the clampers they kill the golden goose. There may be a fair and ethical PPC out there but I strongly doubt it.

Really? Come on dont be so stupid.

I won't comment on all the typos which would render any supposed contract uneforceable, but can I ask if ppc_guy has reported himself to the mods or did he appeal to himself and let himself off?
