    Hi shelley,

i bought from glassesdirect.co.uk and they were awful. they had the wrong prescription and even when they were supplied with a photocopy of the prescription they still got it wrong. after 2 attempts at making them i gave up and asked for my money back. they returned this ok (rememebr to ask for refund of return postage too)

I have used https://www.spex4less.co.uk they are superb. register for newsletter and you can have your anti reflection coating free.

    hope this helps.

Whilst we're on this subject, can I add another site for people to look at?

If you try them out, let me know how you find them and I'll report back to her.

    Anyway, enough waffle: the website:

They're expensive in comparison to other sites. They are cheaper than the high street but that's about it. For me to get a pair of glasses I like I need to spend £60 before paying a further £40 to thin the lenses down and add an anti reflective coating. I think I'll stick to goggles4u and the like at least it is only £15 down the drain if I don't like them instead of a £100+.

I got some varifocals from https://www.newspecs.co.uk
They cost under £50 and are fantastic although delivery did take nearly 3 weeks.
If you're not in a rush for your glasses, I think it is a great site

My glasses arrived just a few minutes ago from Googles4U.

First impressions: Surprised how light they are - I got rimless - Still feels a bit weird - you know that self conscious "new spectacles" feeling. My first new specs for 15 or more years.

Quality seems good for the price - can't really argue with less than £15. Will probably order another style when I decide which one.
The case it came in fell apart but I guess it's just for mailing.

This company also makes up glasses from your prescription details entered on line, and you can get a pair from as little as £15 with £2.50 p&p. Mine ordered Mon came today fine. So go to D&A for a free eye test, then walk out with your prescription and save yourself £70. Places like D&A get them made for as little £10 and then charge you to come back and collect them.

https://www.spex4less.com will always get my vote.

    Courteous, helpful and efficient.

Phone them with any concerns that you have and they will do their utmost to ensure that you are happy with your purchase. You will speak to one of the two owner/opticians (Mark Bowden)most times.

When I said that I wasn't best pleased with the style I'd chosen they sent me a different pair of glasses with a different frame for me to try (at no extra cost) and asked me to return the ones that I preferred the least.
It doesn't get any better than that.

I shall continue to use again and again.

They will even re-glaze your old frames with your new prescription for £15.00

    highly Recommended.

Why not give them a ring for FREE.

My Glasses have arrived from Goggles4U

For the price I think they are great. Not the most stylish but then I did find a better pair after I had ordered these. I got them light rose tinted just for fun and now I can say I can see the world through Rose tinted glasses.

The case was even intact through delivery and they came with spare nose cusion things.
