Well I was surprised to see my postie twice today. The first time he delivered letters and the second time he brought me an Amazon parcel. This was the part of my order that was estimated to be delivered today :) but the parcel that was supposed to have been delivered on Dec 8th is still not here.

No sign of the Amazon expedited delivery that is supposed to be here today ... yet anyway. My son ordered 4 items yesterday with express delivery and the order has been split. Only one item has been delivered so far even though Amazon gaurantee delivery by 1pm. I agree with Vikingaero that Amazon shouldn't offer a service if they can't provide it.

I did have hopes that the parcel due on the 8th would probably still get here before Christmas but after reading Rustyboy's post, I'm not so optimistic so I think I'll call Amazon tomorrow and request that they resend.

Yes, how foolish of people to post on a message board thread about Amzon delays with, erm, details of Amazon delays.

Why not run along somewhere that's more your level: http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/cbbc/

Something tells me that if you had been affected by this, it would suddenly be a huge deal…
  • I placed an order for just under £300 on super saver delivery on Friday. It was delivered about an hour ago :) I live in one of the owrst affected areas last week, but we have no snow left at the moment.

I think this was meant for the PMT thread on the DT board.

Ordered an item from Amazon, dispatched on the 6th via Royal Mail and still waiting, another item from a different company ordered on the same day was delivered by Royal Mail three days later, plus just had an overnight delivery by Parcel Force today, who knows when my Amazon item item will appear.
  • how late do parcels have to be for amazon to resend them?

My order is now a week over the estimated delivery date?

the other is 3 days over?
  • Hi everyone,

My items (ordered on 1 Dec) are according to the Amazon tracker still stuck at:
    Gourock Inverclyde
Order has been handed over to the carrier and is in transit - Dec 05, 2010 2:38:30 PM

For those in the same situation as me, I just managed to call up and get through to their call centre, 0800 496 1081, they said they passed the item to Royal Mail on 12 Dec (although when I called RM they had no record of it) and if I hadn't received it by 16 Dec to call back again and they will process a full refund or send a replacement (which they assured me would be by first class so I get it for Christmas). They've put my item under "investigation" (whatever that means) ... There's still hope!

For those in a similar situation (ie. waiting a week or so past the estimated date) I would recommend calling them up to get the ball rolling on getting a replacement sent out! Good luck everyone!

People are perfectly entitled to moan if they have ordered and paid for a service that they didn't receive such as next day delivery.

Amazon had the option of removing next day deliveries but didn't until it was too late. If a company takes your money and there is uncertainty about delivery then it will create angst and worry for customers who are running against deadlines such as birthdays and Christmas.
