I placed an order with Amazon on 9th Dec (estimated delivery date: 13th Dec). The tracking number says: "Order delivered on 26th October 2010 at 10.27am"??? It's coming via City Link. Do they recycle their tracking numbers (order details not updated yet) or do you think Amazon sent me the wrong tracking number  I've just sent them an email anyhow
  • hiya, ive not read every post as there are 4 pages.... but i had the same problem. i rang the main post office in my local area and they said they had stacks of amazon parcels which were all waiting to go out. i was due to get my item on tues 7th, and by yday i was gettin worried as it was a present for my nephews bday, which is tomorrow!

i rang amazon yday and asked what to do, and they said if it wasnt delivered by today (tues) which was 7 days over the expected delivery date, that thet would send my order out again, via next day delivery courier.
Luckily the postman stpped by that afternoon with my parcel, so i didnt have to contat amazon again.

but its not amazons fault, its the post office. if anyones still waiting for a parcel from amazon, try contacting your local sorting office as they can tell you if its there.

    :)

and constant phone calls really help getting things done?
the business is trying to clear the decks
its the busiest time of year and coupling it with the weather problems causes massive issues
  • See my post above. I have now heard back from Amazon again telling me my item is now out of stock. No other solutions, no apology, nothing.

I am now unsure what to do.

Amazon do still have the item but with another seller at a much higher price.

    Any suggestions on next steps?

Doorbell rang an hour ago. It was Andy our friendly Royal Mail Postie with.... an Amazon parcel for Mrs V, delivered from that snowy place called New Scotlandshire!:D

I quizzed Mrs V about it and she had ordered it yesterday morning using Amazon Prime (apparently it was still available). It was only a small box so I imagine it got chucked on somewhere as airfreight.

So that leads me to believe that stuff in courier warehouses isn't being dealt with which is a bummer for those affected. But now Amazon realise they've been caught with their pants down, they are sending stuff by the least affected service.

Royal mail have stopped using airfreight apparently so everything is going by road. Makes no sense to me.
I was born too late, into a world that doesn't care
Oh I wish I was a punk rocker with flowers in my hair
  • Hi - yep Amazon despatched a CD to me on the 5th with a delivery date of the 10th (via Royal Mail) and it still hasn't arrived. Amazon Customer Service (is that an oxymoron???) haven't replied to an email yep!
We also have a hoover in the system which should be delivered today by HDN - so we wait to see if that arrives!:rotfl:
  • Try the old youre in breach of contract tack and tell them you will go to another supplier and take amazon to small claims court for the difference in price and your trouble etc!?

a lot of stuff has been diverted and is being processed in overspill buildings
i know the collections in Edinburgh have been going down south!(yes really)
to be sorted and then sent on
Edinburgh is also using the old Motorola building near Bathate as overspill
