Amazon Delivery Delay

Well, here's a shocker. We had the posty knock on the door about 6.45pm tonight ... with two parcels, one from Amazon & the other from HMV. He was saying they're getting overtime to help clear the backlog ... plus there's a better chance of getting people at home after normal working hours.
So. Nice one Mister Posty. Another couple of days & we might have everything we've ordered online !I no longer contribute to the Benefits & Tax Credits forum.0 -

Wales is clear DCF, we missed the majority of the bad weather. I know people travelling North South and West on a daily/weekly basis and there has been very little trouble with the weather so I dont see any reason why you would have a delay.0 -
Im betting its been sent RM tracked, tracking number start FD?
Nope - TD.of course the weather in Scotland can be to blame.
Amazon has fulfillment centres up here
But tracking on the RM site says it was posted from FFORDD AMAZON SA1 8QX - Swansea.I was born too late, into a world that doesn't care

I have been told by a reliable source that the delays are due to the depots of the carriers being full to bursting with parcels at the moment. Because of all the snow, deliveries have been delayed. Couriers have been going out at 7 in the morning with 50 deliveries on, have been getting back at 7 pm, with 20 deliveries on as people are not in to receive, or have refused them. You still have to take into account that they do have to try and deliver those 20 parcels, so that takes up their time. Because the warehouses are so full, they cannot unload the other lorries as they have no room to put the goods, so therefore stale mate.
I feel that a lot of you are so ignorant of the fact that we have had bad weather, you have done your shopping online , so you don't have to go out to the shops. You, mulitplied by the many thousands who have done similar, have caused the problem in the first place, instead of thinking about it and waiting for a lull in the weather and going to see your friendly high st shops.

Amazon have warehouses across the UK, there is one in Gorouck near Inverclyde which looks where your order has come from0 -
I too have ordered from Amazon on the 29th November and still not received my delivery. It has been stuck at Goole due to Adverse Weather Conditions. Amazon have told me to wait until Wednesday before they will chase parcel. Getting desperate, this is for the mother-in-law!0

Hi,
I'm not ignorant but i order online because for one we are on a very tight budget and you can get presents cheaper online and make your money stretch with deals offered by all these lovely online shops, it saves costly petrol and i have ill health and going to the shops is not easy, i'm sure a lot are in the same boat. Thanks again from sunny Lancashire also
Its good to find a thread where others are experiencing the same issues so you know its happening everywhere.0 -
Rustyboy, you're being too hard on folks here. We weren't ignorant or inept either ... OH & I both got paid our wages 29th & 30th Nov & it was then we placed our orders, before the heavy snow. We live out in the sticks, for us online shopping is a great way to get a better choice and to save money too. Just kinda hopeful the rest of the orders turn up by the end of next week !I no longer contribute to the Benefits & Tax Credits forum.0
