Amazon Delivery Delay

I made yet another call to Amazon last night and the people I spoke to in South Africa were infinitely more helpful than the people in India that I had spoken to previously.
The item was miraculously back in stock so he has sent me another one on next day delivery (which is actually estimated to get here on Friday). No tracking number though so something tells me they have stopped using Royal Mail for deliveries.0 -
My order was due on 13th Dec & I've just received an email from Amazon saying that I can have a refund/replacement on 21st Dec.
Good to see that some orders are starting to trickle through.0 -
You're lucky - my delivery was due on the 8th & I have been told to leave it till the 20th before they will replace/refund:(
Good to see that some orders are starting to trickle through.
I got up this morning to find they were sending out replacements as well  I managed to cancel one of them in time, but if the missing items turn up as well as all these others, I'm going to be overrun with darn things!
it might be an idea to contact them again, seems unfair that they're sending stuff out to me but you're having to wait
EDIT ... maybe it depends on which depots your packages are being held in?0 -
All round the world lots of countries get adverse weather and things still get delivered. What is it about the UK that we just cannot cope. Parts of the US and Europe have far worse than what we get and things keep moving.
Because routine bad weather every year means that those countires mentioned have infastructure in place to cope. We don't. Ever heard of a snow plough in the UK? They are very very rare, unlike the US where they are used daily and commonly.
IMO it's high time the UK put money into making bad weather plans and infastructure. They go on about how much each day of disruption costs the economy so one day every few years and it would already be well in credit
The best we got in the last lot of bad weather (another lot due tomorrow) was allowing lorry/delivery drivers one hoursextra work for 4 days. Not saying it didn't help but that was all we got in the wayof infastructure.0 -
My order that was 'delivered in October' is on the move :j The tracking has now updated & says: 'Scu nthorpe South Humberside, departure scan 4.54am: In transit'.
Edit: Just checked City Link's website & it says planned delivery date: TODAY0 -
Just found this thread when googling trying to find out what was happening with other peoples Amazon orders.
Heres my story
Placed an order for 5 things with Amazon on 1st December before the bad weather hit
First item came from Jersey--not arrived
3 of items despatched on the 2nd via HDNL--called HDNL they say they have never received this parcel
Last item a book send super saver royal mail 2nd cl--arrived 13th
I called Amazon when I noticed that no update had been made on the box of 3 they resent 2 of the 3 items on the 8th Dec 1st class and expidited they said--still not here
The 3rd of 3 was heavy I was told to reorder that myself as the girl from the Phillipines hadnt put it through properly so I did on the 8th it came yesterday. What annoys me is if she had put the heavy item through again they would all have come via HDNL instead of the 2 DVDS going via Royal Mail.
My second amazon order place on the 8th again one item from jersey not here yet
Other two items going via citylink have arrived in scotland yesterday and should be delivered before the 20th
Its the way amazon handle some people that bug me they cant help the weather but at least if they resend orders via courier they can be tracked and after initial losses that would make sense to me
Every day I feel like my posties new stalker lol0 -

On 10 Dec it arrived at the North West Distribution Centre (which appears to be in Warrington). That is about 150 miles in the wrong direction as we are south of London!! And there it remains.
Other item expected tomomorrow.0 -
It shouldn't redirect you, its just gives an option to switch to UK if you want. Some items are restricted to US only but most they will ship international.
Remember to pay by Credit Card which, if you normally usea debit card, you will have to add or select if it isn't your default choice.
It caught me out once when I ordered 3 items and I had a nice 3 international transaction charges added to my debit card.0 -
Just tried to call my local sorting office as I'm now missing SIX parcels. The phone rings for the best part of ten minutes then a recorded voice tells you they can't answer the phone and you can't leave a message0

I ordered two presents on 29th November and am still waiting. The went to Bedfordshire first (very near to us) then to the National Distribution Centre which I think is in Scotland!
Tracking hasn't moved for a week. At least I'm not the only one stalking the postman!0
