Amazon Delivery Delay

Why should she say sorry? She can't control royal mail/adverse weather can she? What exactly can she do in her power to make you happy? She's not god.
They could have sent it from somewhere that isn't snowbound. The poster implied they had stock in multiple locations but routed it from the snowbound one.
She could also have said sorry anyway, as in she's sorry the poster has been let down, not necessarily for Amazons part in it.0 -
There is nothing anyone can do about it, so why get so agitated? I'm also waiting on four parcels.. two First Class and two Prime Next Day. If they don't arrive before Christmas, it's tough luck.. I don't think anyone in my family is materialistic enough to get in too much of a hump about it. Especially as there is nothing I can do.
I'm not saying Amazon have or haven't handled the situation properly.. but what I do know is there ain't nothing I can do about it.
So sit back and watch them all at work:

I have to say, I agree - there is little point in moaning as it is no ones fault.
I ordered a few items on 1st December. 2 items were coming from sellers on amazon (not amazon themselves) and these arrived within 3 days. I was then expecting two deliveries from Amazon (they split them in two, I think they do that anyway sometimes).
Both have a delivery estimate of 8th, and say there were dispatched on 5th. One of them arrived yesterday but I am still waiting on the rest (which consists of 4 items). I checked with my neighbours just in case, but they aren't here yet.
I am not panicking, I will just wait. If they aren't here in time for Christmas my partner will just have to have a new years present :-) all I can say is I'm glad I didn't pay for next day delivery!
SMILE EVERYONE ITS CHRISTMAS :jTrying to be good and watch the pennies, but guilty of falling off the wagon every so often!

I got an email tonight saying one of my parcels have gone awry. I requested a refund instead of a replacement. Looking at the weather with more snow on the way, it'd never get here. I asked them to check my other parcel and if it's also gone missing can they refund.
Citylink are the couriers for these and two other parcels. No status change on the tracking on any of them. Parcelforce have been great had no problems with them.0 -

Because of all the snow, deliveries have been delayed. Couriers have been going out at 7 in the morning with 50 deliveries on, have been getting back at 7 pm, with 20 deliveries on as people are not in to receive, or have refused them. You still have to take into account that they do have to try and deliver those 20 parcels, so that takes up their time. Because the warehouses are so full, they cannot unload the other lorries as they have no room to put the goods, so therefore stale mate.
I feel that a lot of you are so ignorant of the fact that we have had bad weather, you have done your shopping online , so you don't have to go out to the shops. You, mulitplied by the many thousands who have done similar, have caused the problem in the first place, instead of thinking about it and waiting for a lull in the weather and going to see your friendly high st shops.
Old adage.... you pays your money.. you takes your chances, don't blame anyone else for your own ineptitude.

Maybe I was a tad OTT with my comment, but people seem to be getting wound up and irate over things that businesses cannot forsee.
When the snow fell and deliveries couldnt get through, lorries, trailers planes etc were all stuck where they were. It is a logistical nightmare for any business trying to do things when this happens, everything is in the wrong place of the country, like the [planes were the other week with the spanish strike.
It just annoys me that some people think the world revolves around them and to hell with everyone else !
I have had an argument with a customer myself this week because her fireplace she has ordered from me, is held up due to the snow and should have been delivered to me last week. She lives in the eastern part of lancs, where the snow did fall badly. I offered her another fireplace she liked when she came in, but was more expensive, at the same price, which I did have in stock, but she refused it as she was snowed in and couldnt come to my shop ! But she expected the manufacturer who was snowed in to still deliver to me, and then me go out and fit it for her, when she has already stated to me that she cannot get out due to snow ! What am i suposed to do, have a helicopter or hovercraft to use? She has sent me a solicitors letter demanding compensation, for delay of supply !
People are being really unreasonable over this, businesses dont want to let people down, it is not in their interests to do so, but get slagged off over no fault of their own, it is so annoying.
Have a little think first before you slag businesses off, not all are out to defraud you, some of us are nice ! lol.
I know internet purchases are sometimes cheaper than the shops, so good for budget conscious people, but you do have the likelihood of problems arising, for factors like deliveries, which you dot have with high st shops, that is a fact. at least with a shop, you have a face to complain to if things go wrong.
Everyone try and chillout, things will sort themselves out and if something doesnt arrive for you in time, it's not going to kill you !0 -
I don't see people getting wound up on here. Most of us are just stating facts - and it's good to see that some people are getting their deliveries.0

I spoke to our lovely postie and explained my predicament. He told me that they had a cage load of Amazon mail in earlier to (hopefully) go out tomorrow. He is going to have a sort through the 3 skips of parcels and try and find my missing 6 for me when he gets back in and drop them in tomorrow.
He did say that there is no truth to the rumour they are delivering new packages before the backlog, just that they are backlogged and working to catch up.
I don't understand this then because all my later ordered parcels are getting through and being delivered but the ones i ordered way back on the 3rd and around that time are nowhere to be seen, that being Amazon and other places.
I rang my sorting office as i was told after contacting ebay sellers about missing parcels, and he said to ring back at the end of the week. I can live without the parcels of course but its upsetting when they are pressies and i ordered early on to make sure they got here
But hey i'm British and moaning we do best :rotfl:0 -

All of mine now arrived from Amazon (but not Play, Sainsburys and The Hut) with the one stuck in the National Distribution Centre since 01/12 being delivered yesterday.0

My parcel that was sat in the distribution centre in London for 2 days was successfully delivered yesterday. I'm just waiting for a delivery from Amazon Jersey now, but there is no tracking on that so I'll just wait a couple of more days before chasing it. It's also a Christmas present but I should be able to pick it up in the shop if needs be.Proud to be dealing with my debts
