Amazon Delivery Delay

The expedited delivery is a waste of time, I don't know why Amazon are even offering the service. They just send it out First Class not even Special Delivery like they would with Express. Of course they don't tell you this when you order as 1st class is also a separate cheaper service.
Just now or the whole time? Because I pre-ordered a netbook in August and paid for expedited (as I had saved for a whole year!) and it got sent CityLink next day and arrived then which happened to be a Saturday.0 -
Received today the first package of 3 items i ordered 12 days ago, just have patience and you will get the orders0

On 9 Nov at 4pm I ordered a new computer monitor, and as I needed it quick, I opted for Express. It was here the next day at just after 10am, a whole day before estimate. According to tracking, it came direct (by Citylink) from the depot in Swansea to here. Excellent.0 -
Called Amazon last night about my order which was due on the 8th & asked for a replacement. Very helpful person said that would not be a problem & thanked me for my patience.
So here's hoping.
My sister ordered from them on the 10th & her order has already arrived. Some folk are like that.0 -
Like many others, my order was late. It was ordered on the 3rd for delivery on the 8th. I used the tracking on the Amazon site and googled my local depot's number (HDNL). I called them and they were really helpful. They then delivered within 24 hours so I was very relieved! It hadn't been delivered as the order did not have my name on, just my address. Still my little boy has his present for xmas now. :jThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

If you ordered in August it would have been Express Delivery you paid for which is guaranteed next day.
Whilst the weather has been bad Express has been renamed expedited as they can't guarantee next day. You will still expect it to be at least sent special so its quicker than 1st Class though.
Plus if the item is too big/expensive then of course it won't be sent by Royal Mail. I was mainly talking about items that they would normally send out Special Delivery under express delivery are being sent First Class under Expedited Delivery. Courier items are probably still being sent by courier.0 -

Its just express renamed whilst the weather is bad. When things get back to normal they will go back to having Express, Prime, First Class and Super Saver.0 -
Our postman knocked on the door 20 mins ago (Sunday ?) with a parcel Amazon despatched on 30th November. And apart from one minor stocking filler, we're now fortunate to have received everything we ordered online 3 wks ago. Tra-la-la !
The poor postman looks absolutely shattered, he was saying the abuse he's been getting from members of the public has been the worst ever ... but it hasn't been from the people waiting patiently for their giros (who need it in order to feed themselves and to enable them to keep warm) ... it's been from the "all fur coat and no knickers" brigade with their posh houses and who think the world's gunna end if spoiled brat's red Nintendo Wii is 2 days late getting delivered.
OH gave him a flask of hot coffee to take with him. He's such a star.I no longer contribute to the Benefits & Tax Credits forum.0 -

I pre-ordered so express was not an option, it was expedited!! I know full well what delivery service I chose thanks. And as custardy pointed out it has been around long before the snow, this was a delivery option in August this year as already stated.
As you say they can't currently guarantee next day so it's not been renamed, just withdrawn. Lots of companies withdraw that service when they can't meet the conditions.0
