I ordered 3 items from Amazon on 1 Dec on supersaver delivery. One item was delivered on Friday. The other 2 items I have looked at the tracking and the status hasn't changed from the below for 9 days...

Order has been handed over to the carrier and is in transit - Dec 05, 2010 2:38:30 PM
    Delivery Estimate: 8 Dec 2010

I called Royal Mail and apparently this means they don't actually have the parcel yet... I called amazon and finally got through after about 30 mins with annoying hold music to be told that their systems are down and they can't help me?! Why not have this message at the beginning of the call during the hold music! I just want to know if I will be getting this order any time soon or if I should cancel and go buy it from a shop in town. I realise there's a lot of snow in Scotland at the moment but surely something must have happened in the past 9 days? (I'm in South London).

Amazon's website says expect 1-2 days of delay... not 9 or more!

    Any ideas anyone?

I'm in exactly the same situation. My delivery estimate also remains the 8th and the tracking isn't updating at all. As you said, I would just like to know if there is any chance I will get these items before Christmas. I have emailed Amazon, but they have not replied.

My delivery estimate was also the 8th and I still haven't got my order. I finally got a reply from Amazon today (two days after I contacted them). They said it's likely to be lost and offered a refund as they doubt a replacement will arrive before Christmas.

I got 2 items estimate for delivery 10th & 13th got nothing yet
emailed them twice not had a reply
I've had plenty of emails about offers and dates to order to get xmas delivery etc
they email when ordering and when an item is dispatched.

when that happens i take it the items are with a courier somewhere and amazon cant do a lot until a certain time has passed and then i declare it awol

i need 1 item by Sunday for a birthday it was ordered on the 3rd Dec :(

I had 3 orders due by the 8th & all of them were 'stuck'

I contacted Amazon earlier this week & one has been sent out again, another I'm having refunded, & due to a bit of confusion I ended up with 3 of of a particular item* (not a Christmas gift) in transit

*the first one turned up today, but I refused the delivery, it's in a box half the size of a washing machine & I'm afraid that if I'm out my neighbours might take in the other 2 & I'll end up with 3 of the darn things taking over my flat for the entire Festive Season until returns can be arranged, so I'll keep the last one when it arrives :o

Took an Amazon parcel today for Mum (second one sent apparently, no sign of the first one), Royal Mail Tracked. But it could have easily fit through the letterbox, do they have to hand over Tracked items and not just pop them through the box? Seems a bit silly when no signature required, guess it is part of the Tracked Service.

no reason.but the postie may have knocked while they were setting up the PDA to scan. or they hought it was a tracked signed for when they knocked
  • Amazon Prime is also bad at the moment. Goods ordered on 13/12 still not here - with the promised next day PRIME service.

Goods ordered on 15/12 arrived today - also via the PRIME service! (17/12/10)

Think I shall cancel the PRIME as the free trial is proving to be up to much!
