Amazon Delivery Delay

I placed an order for dvds and books from Amazon on 29th Nov - looking at tracking, says was at Inverclyde Depot on 5/12, collected by carrier and expected delivery on 8/12, but still no sign.
I still have to wrap and send them down to Somerset once they do arrive, but am sure the youngsters they are for will have plenty of presents to open Christmas Day, so extra presents a bit later might be quite nice0 -

That's precisely what mine said, it hadn't moved from being at Inverclyde on the 5th. After a series of calls they admitted that my parcel had probably been lost, they refunded the original & payed for express delivery on a new order.0 -
I spoke to a guy from Amazon tonight, his English was appalling. It was really hard for him to understand me and me him. He said something about being able to log into my account and click a refund button from today...I looked, nothing on there yet. Has anybody seen this magical button before?
They sent me an email saying they'd refund me on Wednesday. Haven't heard back. it's a total joke. I'd like my money back before Christmas as were not all made of money and I need the cash back in my account to purchase replacements for the presents they lost in transit!
How to tell if the refund has gone through their system (takes a while to come back onto your card though):
1. Go to Amazon and click on Your Account in the top right of screen, login at next screen if required
2. Find the order that they have said to process a refund for in the list of orders
3. On that order on the left of screen will be a date in large writing (date of original order). Under that is "View order details" - click on this
4. You are now on the order detail page with detailed breakdown of each item cost within that order, scroll down through the items, nearer the bottom of page will be payment information. At the very bottom there is a section on mine called "refunds" where it shows the refunded amount.
This showed up only 10 mins after I spoke to someone who processed the refund. Therefore even if it hasn't come back onto your card yet it should be shown here that they've processed it.
Hope that helps!0 -
Have never had problem with Amazon before but am currently waiting for four items from Amazon, all of which have delivery dates prior to today. One item should have been delivered by 11th Dec and Amazon have told me that I have to wait until 20th to get refund although they are confident it will turn up............
I only ordered products that had delivery dates in time for Christmas but am getting quite stressed now. Will think twice about relying on Amazon next year.

they're not responsible for the problems caused by the weather, also they're not the only retailer with a huge backlog of late deliveries0 -
so they would retain a national service?
same price regardless of distance
6 day delivery
remove any form of regulation?
free reign on pricing?
why does it being a national service make it a no brainer?
And you answer is to keep royal mail as it is, an antiquated service that can no longer keep up with the demands.
Its a bit like keeping a very old dog alive who suffers constantly, because it is cute and reminds you of the old days.
It either needs modernising or be replaced by a company who can do the job.
No doubt custardy, with you being an ex postie you will argue against thisMansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j0 -
Had a small packet ordered from Amazon yesterday, posted yesterday second class in Littlehampton received in Halifax this morning at 10am !

One of my packets from Play turned up yesterday, I'd ordered 4 over 3 days and this was the middle one, I'm hopeful that the other 3 will arrive soon.
DD had asked for one thing only this Christmas, and that is the books that I am still missing from Amazon. My tracking also has not changed from Inverclyde. I have called them now and they have promised that should the books not appear by Monday they will send them out again on Next Day delivery so I'm not quite as panicked as I was now.0 -
I got a delivery from Amazon today. Everything was ordered at the same time but this was from another seller through Amazon. My other stuff still stuck.
Edited to add: Just checked the tracking of the rest of my order and it's here in town, out being delivered. Yay!0
