Amazon Delivery Delay

I work at the head offfice of a national retailer, we have online orders and use the Royal Mail and another courier for deliveries.
Chatting to our online manager today, a lot of Royal Mail deliveries which have recently been despatched within the last week or so have been delivered no problem. Orders before that just seem to have been piled up in a warehouse somewhere and the Royal Mail seem to be giving priority to what is entering the system and not the backlog. We're getting people with recent orders querying what has been delivered, wrong sizes etc. and orders before that qeurying where there delivery actually is!0 -

I'm waiting for a parcel ordered on 6/12 despatched 7/12 but no tracking number so have no idea where the parcel is... they emailed me to say if I haven't received it by the 21st then I can have a free replacement which wouldn't arrive by Christmas or a refund, which also prob won't be here by Christmas!!! I have emailed back that I want the replacement now and at the lower price they are now selling it at. I think they are concentrating on getting the new orders out in time for Christmas rather than working out where the delayed ones are! They had the gall tp send me an email telling me if I order now they can guarrantee I will get it for Christmas
Not Happy as have never had problems withem before!!!0 -
No one is arguing that there has been bad weather it's how Amazon is dealing with it that's the problem....

so they are asking you to wait 14 days at the busiest time of the year.
they offering you a replacement/refund
seems reasonable in the cicumstances
why dont you order one at the cheaper price and return the other one if it returns late under DSR?0 -
It arrived this morning! Phew. Maybe I can finally sleep tonight rather than panicking over what I would have done had it not arrived. DD will be happy on Christmas Day anyway.
Fingers crossed you all get something today!0 -
Ellidee, you should edit out your email address & any other personal details that might be in that email

First couple of paragraphs of email received today !
Dear Customer,
Ensuring that you receive your order in time for Christmas is our number one priority.
The recent weather conditions have resulted in backlogs across the entire UK for our delivery partners, but we are in constant communication with them and are working around the clock to make sure that orders with an estimated delivery time before December 24, arrive in time for Christmas.
We are currently experiencing an increased volume of e-mails and phone calls into our customer service centre. This is causing delays to our usual speed of response but rest assured, we are working through all enquiries in order of receipt.Nothing is so fatiguing as the eternal hanging on of an uncompleted task. And the rest !
There are some useful self-service links that allow you to see the details of your order and its current status. You can access these by visiting your account .
If your order has already been dispatched via a trackable method, please use the tracking information on your confirmation e-mail or in 'Your Account' to track your delivery via the relevant carrier website.
If your order was dispatched via a non-trackable method, please rest assured that your item is on its way to you now.
If your order has not yet been dispatched please check 'Your Account' regularly where you will find the most up-to-date information regarding dispatch dates and estimated delivery dates.
We appreciate your patience and understanding.
With kind regards,
Brian McBride

My parcel (ordered on 9 Dec, due on 13 Dec, sent via City Link) arrived this morning :j I feel sorry for the poor guy who had to lug it around as it weighs a tonne. Just waiting on a few bits & bobs from the Royal Mail now.0

Does anyone know where the National Distribtution Centre is? My order has managed to reach there after 10 days of sitting in various other distribution centres across the country.0
