Amazon Delivery Delay

I love the Royal Mail postie! :A He dug my car out this morning after I got stuck - and he put grit in front of my wheels so I could move. :T

Thanks to your previous post regarding expedited, I wasn't expecting anything great from this service but had hoped that it might have arrived by now. I won't be choosing that option again.

Does anyone know if a signature is required on an item that has no tracking ? If not it's slightly disturbing because the item is worth £150. The one item that came through ok was worth slightly less than that but it had tracking.

We had a book delivered (late) on Super Saver this week that was tracked. On the label it said 'No signature required may be left in a safe place'. As it happened the postman had to knock as it was too thick for the letterbox. The Tracking info ends at 'Out for delivery 15/12/10' and the name of our local delivery office. Really unusual to get tracking on Super Saver, not that it was any use in the circumstances of the weather.

We can almost see Swansea's enormous Amazon warehouse. We have had just one day's snow disruption (yesterday).
Unfortunately, my order (made 9th December) has been in Glasgow, Scotland with City Link since 14th December ....Goodness knows why!

I, too, have had the don't-waste-our-time-asking -for your-overdue-parcels-or-we'll-keep-it-even-longer e-mail. Next year, I'll know better.

RM are penalised for delayed mail. Delayed a day or 6 months is still only "delayed", a piece of mail can only be dalayed once so the stuff that is already delayed will be held and fed into the system slowly so as not to disrupt the "new" mail.

I have complained about paying for first class delivery and still waiting for my CD 10 days later, and had a refund back of the delivery charge. Fair play to them for that (though someone's getting an IOU at this rate )

To those wondering why the tracking of your parcels stopped dead, with some companies its because each parcel not delivered has to be individually scanned by hand each day.With the backlog built up, it would take literally hundreds of hours per day to do so, time which is better spent delivering them.
If your parcel was last tracked into a certain depot on a certain date, then the chances are its still there waiting its turn to be taken out.Remember that all delivery companies are in the same boat and cannot magicly get experienced staff in to quickly clear the backlog.
