How to tell if the refund has gone through their system (takes a while to come back onto your card though):
    1. Go to Amazon and click on Your Account in the top right of screen, login at next screen if required
    2. Find the order that they have said to process a refund for in the list of orders
    3. On that order on the left of screen will be a date in large writing (date of original order). Under that is "View order details" - click on this
    4. You are now on the order detail page with detailed breakdown of each item cost within that order, scroll down through the items, nearer the bottom of page will be payment information. At the very bottom there is a section on mine called "refunds" where it shows the refunded amount.
This showed up only 10 mins after I spoke to someone who processed the refund. Therefore even if it hasn't come back onto your card yet it should be shown here that they've processed it.

    Hope that helps!

Hi thanks for your help. I managed to speak to customer services today too. I got them to refund both orders, had two emails from them about the refunds, 1's showing as refunded but the others not updated as refunded yet. Maybe it'll take a few days for them to process it.

I am waiting for an Amazon parcel that was ordered 9/12 and arrived at the RM SW Dist Centre on 11/12 where it has sat since then. A parcel that I ordered from John Lewis on 11/12 arrived 16/12, parcels I sent to Kent on 13/12 (2PK) and 14/12 (SP) arrived 17/12. It looks like Amazon stuff is being left at the bottom of the pile.

Probably a daft question, but do you think I'd be easier re-ordering on a next day delivery and cancelling the original order?

I cant believe all these ppl moaning! They really need to get a life!

we had exactly the same issue last year with the bad weather & one of the firms I work with had a driver killed trying to deliver xmas orders.

Most websites have notices up with info on deliveries & the delays, the news has been full of the problems but yet mcnuggets are still happy to call up companies, scream at staff, waste time that could be spent getting orders out etc.

One of our couriers in Newcastle has 14 trailers full of deliveries from the bad weather over a week ago. They have stopped collecting orders from all firms now to try to get the parcels out.
Another has a backlog of over 10 lorries & tell us they wont get those out until after xmas.

If you want to moan at anyone - have a go at the councils/government who wont grit or clear estates to allow the van drivers to deliver your goods when the weather gets bad

    Merry Christmas!

Can't see anyone moaning here. Just a group of people expressing concern that orders they placed as far back as November (i.e BEFORE the snow) have still failed to arrive.

And as dissapointing is a gift not arriving in time, meaning someone has to be dissapointed, it's not the end of the world. I am much more concerned with the nasty prep& hospital test I have to go through next week, and whether that will be cancelled due to bad weather (which actually and truly would ruin my christmas, and prep starts 24 hours in advance and may get cancelled after) than whether the dvd I ordered for someone will arrive in time (and I am waiting on a dvd as someones gift btw).

I can well understand though those that ordered well before the first lot of bad weather hit and haven't gotten them are frustrated, that is poor service indeed.

Most the complaints are from orders before the snow even hit and yes it did happen last year, so what contingencies were put into place to help this year, nothing is the answer.
