@ zanneone - I managed to get through to Boohoo this morning. Apparently they have about 2 weeks' worth of parcels backed up somewhere but are hoping to get them in the post over the weekend and delivered early next week. I had an email from them dated 7 days ago telling me my item had been despatched, but they've given me the tracking number, and it hasn't even entered the post yet.

Sounds like the same situation to me! I ordered some things on the 4th December, and it states on their website i have a tracking number, etc... but doesnt seem to have entered Royal Mail's delivery network yet!
  • Very unimpressed at the minute with royal mail/amazon......

I understand the weather has been absolutely horrendous however I am still waiting on packages that should have been delivered before the snow even started! I have contacted amazon a few times re late deliveries and they have generally been helpful but not at present... all they can tell me is my packages were dispatched and I should have received them by now.....

royal mail were supposed to be doing an extra delivery today sunday, however yet again no sign of my packages.....and when I rang the depot last week to ask if they were delivering packages as I have been receiving letters and bills I was told not to count on getting any packages?!?! I know the majority of post workers are hard at work trying to sort everything but royal mail needs to provide people with another alternative... i have no problem walking and picking up my packages from any of the depots or collection offices but have been told this isn't possible as "we can't search just for your packages"
  • WOW it has been a NIGHTMARE re deliveries this year! ... Lots of people in the same boat , which helps , but doesn't help our packages arrive! lol

Anyway I got SO stressed and miserable about not getting my BHS parcel yet that I got FED UP of being stressed and miserable about it! lol

Either that or got to ''past caring'' stage!!

So now I KNOW I am not going to receive it in time for Christmas as there is even MORE snow forecast and nothing is budging because the roads have snow on top of ice ( dangerous of course )

So am just going to make the most of what I HAVE got and get together with the family after Christmas for a Christmas get together PART DEAUX to give them all the extra pressies!

Love seeing them anyway - So good excuse for a family get together , a drink and a laugh in the New Year!

I have even BROKEN MY RULE and ordered MORE STUFFFFFFFFF .... nooooooooooo!

Just couldn't resist the Superdrug and IWOOT glitch and no way will I get THEM before Christmas as put in late orders and one hasn't even been despatched yet.........

So am going to 'chill' out and stop manically checking my tracking 3 times a day LOOOOOOOL

And just enjoy the run up to Christmas which is MANIC enough as it is .... Still haven't done all my FOOD shopping yet!! xx
  • Surely the answer is we get all royal mail staff trained up on a pair of skis and when the winter weather hits no-one takes any days off the just "ski everywhere"

I just wanted to post some praise for M&M Direct. They do seem to really be putting the effort in (or the courier who delivered my parcel did anyway).

Today (or strictly speaking yesterday) a Sunday Morning, I got a delivery- my wellies for the snow! I hadn't expected them until Monday/Tuesday but they arrived today on a Sunday! The women delivering them said she had meant to get them to me yesterday- I ordered Thursday with a 3-5 working day delivery schedule.

I wish all mail services were this helpful!

My problem comes from retailers too slow to despatch. Play.com sat on an order from november - saying awaiting stock. So cancelled and ordered with tescoentertainment.com. They sat on it for 10 days so in desperation I bought off ebay. Arrived safely a couple of days later.

Come on Sainsburys - please despatch my most recent order, what are you waiting for?

In view of the weather, reckon most folks will understand delays in their pressies this year. My teenage boys wont mind too much as I have their main bits, will have to wrap a picture of whats to come!

  • I am waiting on a delivery from Amazon - it has said "despatched" for a while now but no sign of it.

I'm with a PP though, whats the point of stressing about it, it will either get here on time or it won't and is beyond my control now. No amount of telephone calls to Amazon or RM, sitting in queues and ranting on here will affect the outcome.

I have already warned my DH that he may have an IOU in place of a present this year. I'm not sure whether to print off an image of the item, so he knows what is coming OR keep it as a surprise for when it does turn up. The latter sounds like fun but on the otherhand I know it's something he really wants and I don't want him to buy it in the high streeat sales before it arrives!!

    What do people think?

Sriously though people, don't stress. Some people won't have a hot meal on Christmas day so I'm sure we can live without one or two of the presents we've ordered? Many people are in the same boat so I'm sure people will understand.

I ordered ds's main pressie in November, (4th) and was told to allow 21 days for delivery...Got a call on the 22nd saying it would be delivered 24th, did I want a morning or afternoon delivery. Afternoon I said as I work mornings. Great his pressie will be here in time for the big day. How wrong was I...It did arrive on the day arranged but at 10am!!! I was working, as I said I would be. Delivery re arranged for Wed 8th dec, still lots of time I thought, took the day off work to wait in, just in case it arrived early then I got the call, Due to the weather delivery was cancelled. Its now 20th and still no delivery. I understand that its no ones fault, we cant control the weather but I cant help feeling angry. If they had delivered it at the arranged time waaay back in November I would have it. I wouldnt be pulling my hair out over the fact that my sons xmas is going to be an IOU lol. gotta laugh or Id cry. Have been out panic buying this weekend just so he has something to open xmas day!
