Christmas Deliveries

Advice needed. I have about twelve items that I ordered two weeks ago from Amazon that I don't think will arrive in time. When ordered, Amazon said they would be delivered in time for Xmas.
1. Can I cancel and buy down the High Street?
2. Some of the items are from independant suppliers who sell through Amazon. Who do I cancel with, Amazon or the supplier?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!0 -
I love the way everyone are so quick to blame the retailer... In most situations all they have done is taken an order and put in the hands of Royal Mail or whoever and have no control over when it will actually get to your front door (or the weather for that matter!)
Admittedly some handle it far worse than others when dealing with customers though.
I have been waiting a while for some parcels that still have not arrived, but the weather in some part is treachorous and I would much prefer a delivery driver does not have a serious accident or worse rather than me receiving something in time for Xmas.
Thats my opinion anyway0 -

I have heard on the news Royal Mail are putting on an extra 7,000 deliveries tomorrow (Sunday)
Their website says
Extra deliveries: In the week leading up to Christmas, we'll be delivering in the evenings and on Sunday 19th, Wednesday 22nd and Thursday 23rd December.

Does anyone know if the Royal Mail is doing extra collections from letter boxes this weekend?
This afternoon your local red letter boxes were already filled to overflowing and it would have been simple for someone to take other letters from the boxes..
As all of those people will have missed the normal Saturday collections, just wondering if its not going to picked up until Monday - in which case people who try and post stuff on Sunday are going to be disappointed or if there are going to be extra collections..
Regards
Sunil
PS At 18:15 the boxes still displayed 'SAT' on their metal collection plates, if that means anything..0 -

well i guess it is good for high street retial, its funny really when it gets really cold they say high street will have bad time because everyone stay at home and buy online, but then when it gets TOO cold and deliveries affected, ppl go back to high street. There is some stuff i bought at higher cost because i was concerned about delivery times0

My two Hawkshead orders from the 1st and 2nd of December haven't even been dispatched yet! So I have no hope of them arriving in time for Christmas

I've received everything now apart from my Amazon order from the 6th a pressie for the BIL, i have contacted them and have to wait until the 21st, will that make it too late for a replacement to be sent out?
I was waiting for loads of early December orders but i had a raft delivered on friday, so the backlog round here must be shifting a bit...well that was before the snow friday night.
I don't want to get another in the shops because its dearer and i shopped online because it was a lot cheaper, tight budget and all that, hoping BIL will be ok about it....i'm sure he will...new years eve pressie instead0
