Hi Guys i have dusted my SC off ready for lovely autum/winter meals but i can only make cassorole in it really (i have done mince but dont like it in the SC may be doing it wrong) i have dug out 2 SC books that i was given when i first got it (one still in the wrapper
) and was all excited until i started reading and found really complex fancy stuff to cook (maybe im just not that posh??) like seafood cassorole - and other stuff we would never really cook. Im looking for a book that has simply homey stuff in like different cassoroles - curries something for like pork chops and chicken and rice stuff nothing too fancy. Does anyone know if a book like that exists???

i have an old tower slo-cook book
isbn 0-572-00977-1
i doubt this particular one is still in print - but it might be worth having a look
try charity shops for recipe books - that's where i have found most of my "old style" cook books etcsaving money by growing my own - much of which gets drunk
made loads last year :beer:0 -
Hello, a good book I have is Hamlyn slow cooker recipes which has lovely recipes such as cidered pork with dumplings, beef stew with dumplings, pot roasted chicken with lemon, chicken korma, caribbean chicken with rice and peas etc. Definitely a winner in both mine and my mum/dad's house.
Would be interested in finding other good sc books as like variety of recipes.0 -

I like the hamlyn book too. Also have a really old one from M&S which has homey recipes as well as a few more exotic ones. Not sure it would be in print now - I'd also suggest a quick browse in the local charity shops, ours usually have loads of cookbooks.Resolution:
