I have made some Sara Lewis ones and enjoyed them. Do you have access to a library? I reserved a couple which cost 25p - that way I can try out the recipes. If it only turnsout there are one or two I like I can copy them out. If there are loads I may splash out :-) I have a veggie one that is great but can't recall the name at the mo.

  • I have this one which I bought in-store at The Works for £1.99 https://www.theworks.co.uk/product.asp?cid=&pid=4817. It contains a good mix of basic recipes with nothing too fancy. I particularly like the soup recipes but OH's favourite is the Liver & Bacon Casserole. It was first published in 1979 and still in print so I suppose I'm not the only one who swears by it!

Not a book, but I like this site, it's a woman who used her slowcooker everyday for a year. Ranges from dips to roasts to currys. Really easy to follow and lots of ideas. She has some mad ones too as she used it everyday for a year!

    Hi Tink_04,

As your thread has dropped down the board I've added to the existing one on slow cooker books to keep the recommendations together.

  • Have a look at crokpot365 website. I have the book from it and it is good, although quiet American. It's called make it fast cook it slow.

I have a few slow cooker recipe books but the one I use the most is this one http://www.amazon.co.uk/Slow-Cooking-Properly-Explained-Favourite/dp/0716022214. Mostly everyday type recipes and nothing too fancy. My DH's favourite is the Liver and Bacon!

But really you can adapt any favourite recipe you have or even just invent one yourself once you have got used to using it!

ps I got mine from The Works cheaper than Amazon but it's out of stock on line. Maybe you could find one in-store if you have a branch handy. At 99p it's worth the hunt!
