The BBC good food site has a lot of one-pot recipes that can be adapted for the slow cooker.0

I find the "what's in your slow cooker today" thread really good for inspiration. People can be so creative!! How about this oneI'd recommend the MSE OS threads indicated above.
We do have an existing thread about SC books, so as this has fallen from the front page of OS, I'll merge this one to give you more ideas.:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -
hi I plan to use my slow cooker a lot more,at the moment I tend to occasionally cook a ham joint in it and perhaps chicken casserole(colmans satchet)
I am looking for a book that gives recipes for family recipes,stews,curries,soups etc. any suggestions to a good one please.sealed pot challenge member 1063..pot emptied to go toward credit card.new pot started 27/3.;)

A couple of basic more oldfashioned ones I use are;
Crockpot cooking by Mary Norwak
Slow cooking properly explained by Diana Page
Be warned these are not glossy picture books but great for simple recipes.
You can usually get them 'used' at A****n or Ebay for very little money.
HTH - Ill keep on looking thro my vast collection of books !
Edit: another title - 'Real food from your slow cooker' Annette Yates0 -
I've just ordered this one from Amazon - it's got fab reviews and you can't go far wrong for £2.69
It's also worth having a look on Amazon and reserving any you like the look of from your local library, that way you've only forked out 50p or so if once you've had a look through you decide it's not a book you'd use much.0 -
forgot about the library and in the meantime have also ordered the £2.69 one thankssealed pot challenge member 1063..pot emptied to go toward credit card.new pot started 27/3.;)
