I've found everything that I need right here on this board. Have you already checked out the recipe pages?

I would like to use my slow cooker more, can anyone recommend a good recipe book especially for meats, soups and puddings? Alternatively do you know of any good writers of slow cooker recipe books?

Just google, there's loads of sites that have recipes for slow cookers. And you're saving money by not buying a book. :D

  • Thanks all for your suggestions - I have checked out these sites and although they have loads of info I would still like to buy a book. I was given a tenner for christmas by a very old relative and want to buy something I can keep. There are many books available on websites but I just don't know which writers are best. Can you help?

    Hi Plumduff,

There's an older thread on slow cooker recipe books that should help so I've merged your thread with it to keep all the recomendations together.

This thread from The complete Old Style Book Collection might help too:

  • I bought a slow cooker cook book today from a well known high street bookstore. The book is called "Real Food from your Slow Cooker" by Annette Yates and Wendy Hobson and cost only £4.99. It is a paperback with 126 pages filled with recipes and cooking and freezing tips. It is very easy to read and understand and even has a recipe for Christmas pudding (I will certainly use this next year and save steaming up the kitchen). I highly recommend this book.

  • Hi

I have bought my sister a slow coker for christmas but it doesn't come with a recipe book and she has requested one!

Can anyone recommend a good one?

Or..i was wondering about making one and printing recipes from here, if so, can you think of your best recipes that spring to mind?

I have one for stew and sausage casserole, but thats about it!

    Thanks

    Hi rippedoff,

There's an earlier thread with recommendations for slow cooker recipe books so I've added your post to it to keep the replies together.

My favourite recipe book is by Mary Berry and is called 'One Pot Cooking'. Over the years I have tried most of her recipes and all have been a success.
