If this thread does not calm down I WILL close it!

Nocareer - you probably know a lot of convicts already! How many people do you know who have points on their licence or a speeding fine? They, just as much as someone who is on probation are a convicted criminal. So please before you get on your high horse remember that we are all one decision away from a prison sentance.

Equally with mental health patients, how many people do you know that have suffered from depression? Suffered from stress? All of those are mental health illnesses, you could find that some of the people you believe to be fine upstanding citizens come into either or both of these categories, and yet you would think nothing of working along side them.

I work with both of the above groups and there are some really nice people in both, there are also some that I dont care for but I could say the same of most parts of society!

Prejudice comes in many forms and this thread has only sought to highlight the views that you hold which to be honest should make you think about your attitude in general. If you were to get a job interview would you specify on your application that you would not work with any of these groups? I would hope not, so perhaps you should think about why you would choose not to go on a training course with the same groups!

According to the BMA, ATOS are employing an increasing amount of doctors from overseas to do benefits assessements.
    3. Fees paid to doctors who provide medical services
The BMA was not consulted in advance of Atos Healthcare issuing their fee rates in either September 2005, or September 2006. The Association has however been in communication with Atos Healthcare to highlight the need to ensure that fees for non-NHS work are linked with GPs’ actual remuneration and that fees are comparable with market rates. Doctors undertaking work for Atos Healthcare almost invariably come from an NHS general practice background and the serious deterioration in comparative remuneration means that recruitment and retention of doctors is likely to become increasingly difficult. The BMA firmly believes that if the issue of remuneration is not addressed then there is likely to be a further deterioration in morale amongst doctors undertaking this work and further reductions in the availability of the medical workforce. An increasing amount of medical services work is now being undertaken by doctors from overseas and the BMA believes that they are entitled to reasonable remuneration for this important work.

[greenhighlight]but it matters when the most senior politician in the land is happy to use language and examples that are simply not true.

The impact of this is to stigmatise people on benefits,
and we should be deeply worried about that

    A whole 13 weeks?

God that does sounds like hard work......

Its harder than the 4 week course as previously mentioned. Made harder by having to mix with de-generate animals doing Community Service for violence because, the prison system has no free places.

    Heres another point.

The dole are happy to give people who commit Benefit Fraud hardship payments, yet refuse to pay people who are on New Deal who don't want to participate.

Where is the justice in that!
