I think I misunderstood the original post - the OP is not complaining about being made to work with groups of MH patients, but other New Deal participants who may or may not have mental health issues, etc.

My partners nephew walked out of a classes half way through with other 'normal' people as the rest were all 'retards' (his words not mine, down syndrom/artistic I think, feel sorry for his g/f's youngest as she is artistic) and kept asking questions. All those that left are probably just like himself - never going to work in their lifes rather just drink etc (the chavs/trash of society) - shame he has just lost his benefits for false claims lol He was on ESA though not new deal.

You probably know more mentally ill people than you realise. Not all mentally ill people will try to kill you or whatever.

The OP seems to think that he, who is incapable of finding a job by himself and apparently has had his benefits sanctioned, is better than those who are unable to work through disability. Given his narrowminded views, I can quite understand why he is out of work! ;)

I don't see why I should have to participate in a programme, that has psychopaths (convicts) and people with mental health issues
being forced to work for their benefits.

They should be on seperate programmes, for the simple reason below.

You have people who are vunerable (learning difficulties and mental health problems) having to earn their benefits being put at risk; by having to mix with convicted criminals who would fail a Disclosure Check. The government is breaking its own laws by allowing this to happen. My main point was that the potential for violence/conflict is high. I sympathise with the people who have disability and people like myself who are being put at risk having to mix with undesirables who have no intention of seeking, let alone gaining employment.
  • Well OP..................wave bye bye to your benefits

I'll find a way round it. And when I do I won't be posting it here, because some have nothing useful to say.

I am not discriminating against the mentally ill. I was merely highlighting the failings of the New Deal Programme.

You are discriminating against the mentally ill. How are you putting yourself at risk? You could one day become mentally ill yourself. It can happen to anyone at any time.

You are missing the point. The word Paranoia springs to mind.

Paranoid about what? You stated that you're not discriminating against the mentally ill - yet refuse to go on a course because they might be on this course too.

The nephew sounds such a charmer, that's a disgusting way to describe anybody but I think you may mean autistic not artistic.

Try swapping mentally ill with black or homosexual.

    This thread is grotesque.
