Called my local tax office today and explained that I have checked my tax code notifications and don't believe the allowance was applied to me of hubby. Was told to write in with child's DOB and our NI numbers and contact tel number and they would follow it up. I Asked where to wirte to as tax office now is diff to tax office back in 2001-03, they said to write to my current local tax office. My Letter will go in tomorrow's post :-)

I have just found a from for reclaiming overpayments on the Net for printing off. Secton 10 relates to Childrens Tax Credit. The form states that if theythink you are entitled to an overpayment they will send the form 11CTC. Although WW said you need to write as this form does not exist anymore, the HM Revenue site does state that you have to send them this document.

Wouldn't hurt to send the form.

    Form here

You can only claim for 2001-2002 and 2002-2003 as that is the only years this Childrens tax was in force. After that it was Child Tax credit.

I called my tax office today and I got it in 2002/03 but in 2001/02 I didn't earn enough to get it (was doing a training course) so they suggested my OH checks his tax code for that year. Very helpful and knew exactly what I was talking about.

i have just phoned my local tax office today, she was adament that i should be ringing the current child tax credit office, but i persevered and asked about the 11CTC form, which she looked up and found on their computer, so shes sending the form out to me now.

dunno if we are due anything, but it has to be worth exploring

    many thanks op
