  • Does anyone know if the tax will be paid as a cheque/refund OR as I have been told by someone in the child benefit (when calling them about my son's CB) office - it will be taken off of the tax code!!!

I just received my new tax code for the year and as someone in the past didnt calculate the tax correctly I apparently owe the tax man over £250 so I was kind of hoping the £500+ would even that out.

I sent my form off in December via my local tax office internal mail but have heard NOTHING.... I now wish I had proof but I know the person at the tax office and I have a copy of the form...

    Has anyone heard anything?
Well lets see - I dip in and out of MSE all the time but I still come back - have done since 2007!!!

  • We posted our claim on the 23rd of january and received a cheque in the post yesterday for £1194! Thank goodness for this website:beer: and good luck to everyone else x
  • Regarding your post - I rang up the Tax Office and because of the forms I signed they sent my tax credit for 2002/3 to the Entitlements Agency in November. I have heard not a thing from the agency and presume they mean to keep the whole sum unless they hear from me. Can I ask you how you communicated with the entitlements agency as their phone number doesn't seem to be a real one. Did you do it all by letter?

    Thanks
