Can I ask if you ring your own tax office or the tax office that sends out the details of the child tax benefit info. Mine is in Liverpool the child tax one in Preston.

Would you ring or send off the form? which seems to work better?

    Many thanks

Even if you ring up, you still need to fill in and post the form off. Your local tax office will be able to tell you where you need to send the form to. As it turns out my husbands tax office isnt our local one.

  • Sorry if I've missed the point. Just downloaded the 11CTC form and it has the option to claim for 2001-2002 and 2002-2003. Can I claim for both years or is there an earlier deadline for 2001-2002??

    TIA
  • As I understand it it's now too late to claim for 2001/02, and I'm fuming about it because I recall ringing the tax office some time ago asking if I could claim this, and was told I had already received it. But I've just read through this thread and checked my P60s, which show my code as 451L and 459L for 01/02 and 02/03, so I don't think I did.

I rang the tax office this morning to see if I would be entitled to claim anything and the guy on the other end told me that I would be and to download the forms and post them ASAP as it would take 6 or 7 days for them to reach me in the mail. Have now done this and sent them 1st class recorded so will have to see what happens now. Hope that he wasn't just trying to fob me off this morning, could do with a bit of a windfall at the moment to help me sort my life out!!! Many thanks to the OP for this. I'd never have known anything about it without MSE!!!
