The thing about claiming when your husband was with you but are now divorced. I'm sure the funds would just directly go to your husband in his name. That's if he was the only person working.
If you don't have his national insurance number then you won't have much of a chance getting any money back and if you do get money back it would go directly to your husband.

We finally got form 11CTC today (I'd just written out a letter as well as I thought the form was no longer available!) looks very simple to fill in and you don't have to send off any P60/P45.0

Have just read through it and on this form you can only claim for one tax year. So as our 2nd dd was born in November 02 I think we'll claim for 02/03 on this form as I believe you get more if the child was born that year. But I'm going to enclose a letter with it applying for the yr 01/02 for our other dd.
Does that sound ok?0 -

Hi I phoned the first number today and they said that they couldn't help me.(Didn't have a clue what I was talking about)! They gave me the 2nd number which is just the helpline for the tax credits which we currently get.
Guess I'll write to my husband's tax office and see if they can help19/03/2007 Start weight 15st 7lbs

I think from what people have said it's just luck as to whether you get someone who knows about it or not, it might take a few tries...0

Thanks to OP and subsequent posters for the info. I'll let you know how I get on
Thanks for your letter template, I'm hopless at writing out letters!
Did you hear back from them yet?
I phoned my local tax office just now and they confirmed that for year 01 and year 02 it wasn't applied but for 03 it was. Now I'm going to send in my letter tomorrow by recorded delivery and hope we get a refund within the next couple of weeks :j
First a success at claiming back bank charges, now this. I love this site!!:money:

thanks

The form 11ctc gives the option of all the money going to the highest wage - earner or half each with your signature and the highest wage-earners' signature. So I don't think you would get any money without his signature.0 -
Thanks for the info - I just found this thread. Will give it a try and find out if we can get anything as had DD in Nov 02. Can't remember if we applied for anything but hey, nothing ventured nothing gained!! Massive thanks.0
