• Has anyone actually managed to submit a meter reading successfully to EDF yet, using their online system?
I applied for Online S@ver v7 on the 7th December and inputted my electric meter reading on the 23rd December and it appeared on my account on the 27th of December. Gas reading inputted on the 7th January and appeared in my account on the 10th January.
• I just checked my EDF account today and the account is fully operational now and has progressed from seeing the registration stage page to a fully functional account

Also Quidco transaction has now been validated .
I hope you all get your accounts sorted out soon I must just have been lucky

I have now completed the switch on both fuels and been able to submit meter readings online OK. So far so good.
But the DD amount showing on both accounts is still set at zero. Does anyone know when they actually update this info, as my initial advised DD was set far too low for both fuels (which seems to be a common issue)?

• My DD was set to zero until the registration page went now it shows a figure ! I do not know if they have taken a payment yet maybe once the payment is requested I wonder if it changes to the amount of the dd set up figure
• When I applied, the website refused to use a realistic DD value for gas.
I rang EDF and was told that there was a problem, wait till everything was set up, and then ring to change the DD to what I wanted.

I rang EDF asking them to refund the difference between the standard and online saver tarriff, the customer service representative said no because it was clearly stated as part of the terms and conditions. I explained I applied for the online saver 7 and through no fault of my own they still hadn't set up my online account, I also quoted the post on here from EDF's legal department but she said she couldn't help me.

She then proceeded to give me another number and told me that they could possibly help. I explained I was not interested in possible help I wanted definite help and I didn't want to be passed from person to person and she replied they COULD help me.

I rang the number only to be told that they could not help and I should not have been given this number and that they were transferring me to another number. I was put on hold and eventually the man came back and told me someone would have to ring me back. I told him I was at work and to give me the number and I would ring them back.

The number he gave me was the customer service number I originally rang!!!!!!

Talk about going in circles!!!!!

Any ideas on what I can do now. How come some people are getting refunded the difference and not others?

I feared this would happen.:(

I have asked EDF's Legal Department for a name of a Customer Services Manager, to whom such cases should be referred.

I have also asked them to consider putting up a Company Rep on this Forum.

I have received a response to the former, accepting that there is a communications breakdown. The Solicitor is unfortunately away from the office until next week.

I will keep you posted as and when I receive a more substantive response.

Excellent idea to request an EDF company rep on here-would certainly have been useful for the past couple of months with all the switching probs.
Am I right in thinking that all the others in the big 6 do already have reps on here?

• DieHard,
Have you had your first bill yet? I had my electricity bill through last week and despite been told it would be standard tariff until my gas goes over beginning of Feb, it is on 'Online S@ver 7 Electricity' so it would appear they are automatically being billed on the online tariff as opposed to standard? Good luck =D
I work for first direct and have previously worked for Santander.
Any information I give should not been seen as being given from first direct or Santander however I do have certain knowledge from working there.

Thank you, Chrissy
