But you would be forfeiting the £180 total cash back, which surely is the reason we all switched in the first place? I'm riding it out, I want my money, lol.

good point of course , but to be honest , come March they could hike the prices right up double to what i was on before , and if i leave i got to pay a £60 penalty ,

if i stay , yes i get the money , but i may end up paying that back in higher rates of energy over the 12 months anyway , so to leave would be a better option !!

Yes, the managers could use it as some sort of punishment - work hard or we make you our rep on MSE. :p

what makes it worse for me , i discovered Atlantic gave me a £120 bonus ( i thought it was a rebate or something) every year for have dual fuel with them !!
  • I must give SP credit they have been very good I phoned them this morning and was on hold for just 4 minutes with the offer of a call back while holding my place in the queue.

Maybe I have just been lucky I applied to change to EDF on December 6th my electricity went over on the 4th January and gas went over the 14 th January which SP confirmed this morning on the telephone .

I received a cheque from SP in settlement for my over payment in electricity this morning and they are waiting for the final reading from EDF for them to work out the gas refund
The EDF account is still showing waiting for my reading but they have confirmed to me on the telephone that they have it .

The only hiccup is that while Quidco is showing tracked it is still waiting to be validated I do not know if this is normal to take so long to change from tracked to validated .

I hope I have not spoken to soon .
  • Just phoned EDF (only waited 10 mins so not bad for a Sat).

I got an e-mail last night asking for initial meter reading (only elec has gone through so far) which I already did on 11th Jan. I think the email messages are just really delayed.

I asked why my gas date is now 3rd Feb (the third date I have been given) and she explained about the 2 systems and the fact they are having teething problems. She said the new system keeps cancelling dates set by the old system and generating a new date....

I also queried being on the standard tariff for the month between elec change over and now waiting for gas - she confirmed that I would be on standard tariff but that it would be back dated to the online saver 7 once both supplies had switched.

We will see what happens on the 3rd Feb and when I get my first bill to see if it all has been on online 7 :)

Well I'm glad I'm not the only one. Found out today that my gas has been put forward to 3rd Feb, was meant to be 4th Jan! Elec went through fine in December, I'll have to chase up the difference if they're charging me standard rate.

I'm in the same position as you datewise, rev_henry: electricity went through ok at the end of December but gas date has moved from 4th January to 3rd February. (I'm also moving home in a few weeks time just to confuse matters, but I won't go into that here).

Emailed EDF to complain that while I'm waiting for the gas to switch, I've lost the dual fuel discount with British Gas.

EDF emailed back yesterday with an apology, and have credited my electricity account with £20 to acknowledge the inconvenience.

There are still other issues to sort out but at least this is a start.

I have written to EDF via my contact to request this.

No response to that and a number of other points I have raised.

I hadn't thought of this. I'm going to send a similar email, thanks.
