So bang goes that theory of the two accounts numbers one being for the old account system and one for the new account system0 -
for what its worth, my contract number starts with 9 my account number starts with 7.
Supposed to have gone 'live' on December 6th. No DD yet taken, Quidco validated, had final bill from old supplier. Cannot register for an online account, same message as others have reported.
Seems to be a big glitch at EDF and will phone after the holidays to try and get some info. Don't see any point until then.
But have to say customer service and communication is just appalling.0 -
My electric was so called switched on the 30/12/10 , and i submitted a meter reading on that day , as reqiested via email from EDF
My EDF online account still shows " awaiting final reading for electric"
I notice today my old supplier , Atlantic have taken DD for both electric and gas !!
I have had no contact from EDF or Atlantic regarding the change over !!
Gas due to change over this Friday .
Wish me luck !! think I will need it !!0 -

I am having the same problem. Still asking for a read even though I have submitted it. I tried calling them this morning, was waiting for 1hr 40mins and had to hang up to come to work.
Good luck =DI work for first direct and have previously worked for Santander.
Any information I give should not been seen as being given from first direct or Santander however I do have certain knowledge from working there.

I've just gone through the palaver of trying to get the status of my switch.
I got through fairly quickly on an 0800 number, automated account number reader, didn't recognise the account and a 'live' person (quite rude) gave me another 0800 to phone, turned out to be non-existent!
Have now used the complaint e-mail system to attempt to get some result. Not hopeful though.
However, can I encourage everyone to use this channel in the hope of getting some mass message through to this ridiculous outfit.
We really need an EDF representative to get on here and explain what is going on.0 -

im am well and truly fed up with edf. having read these posts i am wishing i never bothered switching to them. My electricity was transferred to them on the 14th of december but havent received anything about my gas. Plus i cancelled my scottish power dd so i will probably be charged more by them because of this. I have also found out via this thread that i am probably being charged the standard rate. was going to try ringing them but previous posters have quoted a 1hr 40 min wait. AARGH.
I know other members of my family have had problems changing suppliers wish i had just stuck with SP.

There is a different log in page if you have a 12 number digit account number

I presume you are trying to log in on the correct log in page ??
Myself I did not receive an email from EDF telling me I could go to my on-line account now ! once I had my account number (customer reference number ) I just registered on-line and followed my change over on-line0 -

Yer, but the 1h 40m wait was this morning. Would try them again now if I wasn't at work, and some guy earlier mentioned he got through straight away (even though he was then given an alternative number which was dead). May be worth trying them. I will be doing tomorrow and will keep you all updated but i'm starting the think there is no energy company I can switch to as I have had problems with 4 now and i'm only 22...
