There is a different log in page if you have a 12 number digit account number

    Quote from EDF page

    * If you have recently been sent a new 12 digit account number, you need to login here .

I presume you are trying to log in on the correct log in page ??
Myself I did not receive an email from EDF telling me I could go to my on-line account now ! once I had my account number (customer reference number ) I just registered on-line and followed my change over on-line

both account numbers consist of 13 characters

Just called EDF, spoken to a lovely lady called Sue. She's confirmed they did receive my electric meter read and everythings going through fine, there's just been a delay due to holidays etc. She's put my mind at ease. Also I complained about yesterdays wait, she says the feedback will be passed forward. GL =D
I work for first direct and have previously worked for Santander.
Any information I give should not been seen as being given from first direct or Santander however I do have certain knowledge from working there.

    Thank you, Chrissy

    Hello,
I've also called them this morning (no waiting on the phone) about the fact that after one month, I still cannot access my online account. I have been told that they are still in the process of updating to a new system and don't take new registrations in the meantime. We should receive an e-mail once it's ready, but there are no estimated timeline for the moment!

    That's the email I had:-

Thank you for your email dated 29 December 2010, regarding the online account.

I apologise for the problems you have been experiencing with registering for the online account.

For the last two years we have been developing and planning to transfer all of our customers onto a new system, to help us provide the best possible service to our customers. We are transferring customers in stages; we have already transferred a group of customers onto the system as a trial. This trial has been successful, so we will now be transferring another group of customers in January 2011. We estimate all of our customers would have been transferred onto the new system by September 2011. While this process is taking place, the online facility is unavailable. Once we have transferred your accounts onto the new system we will then be able to register you for the online account. This could be anytime up to September 2011. Please accept my sincere apologies for the inconvenience this causes. You will be informed when you will be able to register online.

I am sorry the advisor told you that you could sign up to the online account in a couple of days time, as this is not the case. I can assure you this will be addressed with their manager, to ensure they are only providing accurate information in future.

    Yours sincerely

September 2011!!! That means that we signed up for an online account and might be unable to access it for as much as 10 months! Incredible!
One of the reasons I like an online account (apart from the cheaper prices) is the fact that I can regularly enter my own readings and check that the bills are correct, but now, I cannot even check that the first readings have been entered properly. I guess I'll have to rely on my Excel sheet in the mean time! Is it worth complaining "properly"? To the energy ombudsman?

    I have a 12 digit account no

Anyway , i just logged in to my EDF account, and I have a welcome pack via email in PDF format from EDF , saves costs i guess :D

It still states waiting for electric final reading even though i submitted it last friday , but now it is asking for a gas final reading too :) which is meant to be switched tomorrow , however it wont let me enter a final gas reading online , so im thinking i will have to wait till tomorrow to enter it on the day of switch over ?

Still nothing from Atlantic regarding this move away , i guess i will end up with a final bill Atlantic soon ?
