It was probably because of the money, Paul. :=))
I notice there are two login systems, one for My Account and another for 12 digit account numbers. But phoning in for start readings seems acceptable.0 -
The EDF site now allows me to enter my first gas reading.
Switchover of gas was planned for the 4th

Called EDF, asking for an update, the reply,
" Sorry sir, but due to the bank holiday period your switch over date for Gas has been put back to the 14/1/2011 and will not go head today ( 7th) , try calling us next Friday 14th "0 -
At least you have got to the stage of being given a switch date! I applied on 20/11, no switch date as yet, and no account no (and by the sound of other posts ,no online account access until September). I''m assuming end of Jan earliest now. Which means that just 4 weeks later after this account goes on supply, EDF will be hiking their prices on March 1st when the Price Freeze Promise ends. So much for winter savings...
Is there any contractual timescale in which a switch has to occur (8 weeks?), assuming no fault on the customer side and no meter reading discrepancies?
I suspect I'm not alone in wishing I'd never bothered with EDF-were it not for the £100 credit and the Quidco £80...No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

You do seem to have it rough with EDF
But some very good points youmade there macman , especially about price hikes possibles in March when their promise ends !! :T
If they do price hike way above the others i will simply cough up the £60 to break out of my yearly contract, and return to my old supplier and it will be a case of a " lesson learnt" excerise i think !!0 -
But bear in mind that you will need to be on supply with them for the full 90 days before you get the £100 credit and the Quidco cashback. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

TBH, welcome bonus or not, they don't deserve to retain customers if this is what their CS is like. Useless.0
-
Perhaps they will offer a 'we p!!!!ed you off Bonus' very soon.0
