i managed to submit a gas final reading today online EDF !!! :j
but im doubtfull my gas will go through on the given date this week !!0 -
I should have changed over gas today so I phoned the opening gas reading up as I was unable to just enter a gas reading online ( I had submitted a opening electric reading last week)
They asked me to confirm what meter it was ( cubic feet or metric) On change over it appears they thought my meter was a Metric meter not a cubic feet meter which was incorrect ! luckily this was sorted out or the billing could have been incorrect in the months ahead
I do not understand how they could have done this as I provided meter reference numbers and would have thought that the records would show this ?0 -
My start date for electricity was 27th Dec, and gas was 4th Jan.
A man from British Gas rang me yesterday, to sort out the fact that I had been charged BG's new higher prices during the switchover, instead of the pre-price rise prices. During this call, he mentioned that there was no record of me switching gas to EDF... only electricity.
Rang EDF today and was told by a guy there that they "applied for the gas switchover too early"??? and the application was rejected by Transco. So they have had to start the application for the gas switch all over again.
I also mentioned that when I log into the "My Account" section of their website, I have been given 2 accounts with 2 separate account numbers, instead of just one. The EDF guy said that I should only have 1 account number. When he checked both numbers he said that they are both linked to the same account, but I should only use one of them "just to be on the safe side"!
This doesn't bode well or give you much confidence, does it.

I emailed about not having an online account and jut got a reply with a password and a PIN. I've tried to login with the password but it rejects it. No sign of where to put the PIN anyway. Sigh...
Edit: Ooh they've changed the sign in page. It's now got a place for a password and a PIN. Mine doesn't work but this is progress. I'll try it again later. Maybe it needs time to sort itself out.0 -

That is very worrying. Out of interest, did BG freeze your price then?"fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, and wiser people so full of doubts." (Bertrand Russell)0 -
Hi flashnazia
BG originally agreed to freeze my prices until the switch went through, but then proceeded to send me electricity and gas bills which both showed that I had been charged their new higher prices since 10th December.
So I was trying to sort that out, when the man from British Gas mentioned that they had no record of my gas switching to EDF, only my electricity.
I hope that the switch has gone through easily for some people, but for me it has just been a real pain so far.0 -
TBH, I think this whole '£100 welcome bonus and no increase until April 2011' promotion has spectacularly backfired on EDF. They clearly as a company are just not capable of coping with an extra large influx of new punters, are they?? An absolute 'risye'0

Have been an EDF customer now since 21st of Nov and I still can't get into my account online. I like to keep monthly meter reads on my online account so I know where I stand.
How can I get them to sort this now, not later or when the new system is ready in september. Very Disapointed I had high hopes for EDF.His Heart Proved He Was A RedSuarez, SuarezWe Bought The Lad From AmsterdamWe Know He's Not a Chelsea Fan.Fernando Torres = El Judas0 -
Gerrard.. try having a moan at them about the website. I did and they sent me details for the new account system. I have now managed to sign in and see my electricity account is there. No gas account yet but let's not expect too much.
I have no idea if my moan did any good but I asked if they could give me web access quickly as that is what I signed up for. It may have been my turn anyway but it's always worth a moan. I can't find anywhere on my account where it says what tariff I'm on though so it's still lacking somewhat.0 -
After reading about the EDF deal on this site I signed up on 24/11 via Moneysupermarket.com . I heard nothing until 16/12 when I got an email from Moneysupermarket.com stating..The reason we are sending you this email is that the switch that you have requested to EDF has suffered a slight delay due to technical reasons.
We can confirm that you will be placed on the Tariff to which you applied and you will also still be eligible for any “welcome bonus” from EDF.
We normally advise that you will hear from your new provider around 14 days after your application. We anticipate that EDF will now be in contact with you in the next 7-10 days to confirm the status of your application, and provide your Welcome pack.
On the 17/12 I got a "Please confirm your email address" email from EDF, on the same day I received a Welcome to EDF pack.
I tried to set up my online account and the site was down for maintenance as it was the next two times I tried. Today 11/1/11 I got aWelcome to EDF Energy
Please click below and login to MyAccount to get your latest message and submit your meter reading(s).
Success, I logged into my account and proceeded to enter my gas and electricity meter readings. My Electricity went in fine, but then I realised there was no gas account set up!!?
I checked back to my welcome pack and realised the letter only mentions Online Saver V7 Electricity, not dual fuel!
I rung EDF straight away, 1.5 hours later I'm still listening to their condescending answer phone message and give up. I then tried to ring Moneysupermarket.com but they close at 5.
Looks like tomorrow will be a frustrating day of trying to find out what went wrong. Bet they use it as an excuse to not credit me the £100 or the £40 odd that Moneysupermarket.com were supposed to give me for the switch of both fuels!
Wish I hadn't bothered.
