EDF online account system down till Monday 17th , so maybe they are sorting all the ones who have access problems out this weekend :-)0

cbrpaul I am able to use the on-line account at the moment so perhaps it relates to certain account numbers0

Forgive me if I ask a question. Why is it so important to gain access to your online account?
Obviously,it would be better to have facilities to view your account online and input meter readings, perhaps monthly if you are so inclined. It is one of the expected features of the Online Saver Account.
I haven't got access but it doesn't seem to trouble me. I keep a track of my consumption anyway. I know DD's are going out of my bank account and I expect to get a quarterly bill/statment. What else is there to do?
I am as keen as anyone about this energy lark (check my postings), but I am sensing some posters are getting into a frenzy over very little.
It's not perfect,but is it that vital?0 -
Correct , There is nothing special about your online account , however as some have said they cannot access it , then maybe , just maybe after this weekend they might ??????
As for a some in a frenzy , hmmm , you need to get down to the zoo at feeding time and see the penguins feed , now thats a frenzy0 -
That's the email I had:-
Thank you for your email dated 29 December 2010, regarding the online account.
I apologise for the problems you have been experiencing with registering for the online account.
For the last two years we have been developing and planning to transfer all of our customers onto a new system, to help us provide the best possible service to our customers. We are transferring customers in stages; we have already transferred a group of customers onto the system as a trial. This trial has been successful, so we will now be transferring another group of customers in January 2011. We estimate all of our customers would have been transferred onto the new system by September 2011. While this process is taking place, the online facility is unavailable. Once we have transferred your accounts onto the new system we will then be able to register you for the online account. This could be anytime up to September 2011. Please accept my sincere apologies for the inconvenience this causes. You will be informed when you will be able to register online.
I am sorry the advisor told you that you could sign up to the online account in a couple of days time, as this is not the case. I can assure you this will be addressed with their manager, to ensure they are only providing accurate information in future.
Yours sincerely
This post including advice from EDF about the online system set out the position.
I wouldn't get too excited or expectant.0
