Thanks for this, was keen to see if OPs were actually receiving the higher speeds for definite at these prices, but no doubt on this now. Looks like you were switched from ADSLmax (think this is capped at 8Mb) to ADLS2+ (up to 24 Mb) when you renewed your contract. Pleased you have a good upgrade, well done.

i was happy with speed i was getting, but when he told me he would upgrade my line and i would get anything up to 14 meg i thought great, but getting 17 meg is even better:jTake every day as it comes!!0 -
I started my contract in june 2010 for 18 months for phone, and option 2 broadband.
I phoned them last thursday cause orange have been asking me to swap to them and they would buy me out of my contract.
I have now got Bt vision including sky sports 1 and 2, and the gold pack, option 3 broadband, evening and weekend calls and line rental all for 32.50 a month, and my moms bt credit card is linked to my account so even more savings.

I am with BT and have been for the past 8 years. My Broadband speed is pathetic. My exchange at present is 2 miles away and only has BT available (following checks) My other option is Virgin. I contacted BT telling them I was leaving and they simply said OK. I pay £14.99 for unlimited BB. With my calls my Direct Debit to cover is £46 per month. I mentioned the speed of BB. and they simply replied, "Yes it is slow at the moment"
I guess due to the limited providers they think they have me by the B******s:rotfl:0 -

Sorry but that is not correct. You may not have any LLU providers, but you have the choice of hundreds of non-LLU ones. If you have VM cable option then clearly that will be your fastest service (not Virgin National, which is ADSL).No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

Those are the listed LLU providers. As you say, none are available-you are on a non-LLU exchange.
But you can still pick any non-LLU ISP (i.e. those resellng BT's Wholesale service). Generally these will give better service than BT, and many are cheaper.
For example Plusnet, Zen, IDNet, and dozens of others. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
How can you tell if you're in a contract? Do you have to ring them up and ask? I've been with BT for years and can't remember whether they do rolling contracts or not. I'm about £38 a month for my line rental and unlimited broadband, not including phone calls.
Yikes, what tariff is that? £26pm for unltd is incredibly expensive, you should be paying at least £10 less.
And that's excluding your calls? All BT line rental packages include a call element.
Look at your LLU options bu doing a exchange search on www.samknows.com
lol I'm about £35pm excluding line rental, calls etc etc..... but then I can get directly thru to a support guy on his mobile of a sunday if ever its playing up and have no call centers to worry about0 -

that is a great deal, puts mine to shame, wish i had tried pushing for more when i recontracted, but i was more than happy with what they offered me and did not want to push my luck, well done to you:TTake every day as it comes!!0 -
Just phoned up BT to see how much it would be to add Unlimited BB - was told an extra £10.00 on top of the line renta- special offer as I have phone line/calls with them. A 1/3 of what we are paying now. Phoned up 10 mins later to see about upgrading to unlimited calls & told that £10.00 offer doesn't exsist - spoke to someone else this time. Help - what can I do to make sure I get the offer 1st given to me?
Thanks
