I had the choice of option 1 at a fiver or option 3 for £10.
Chose the latter as previously on option 1 but would frequently get near the 10gb limit.
If phoning be armed with the best deal for comparison,as I was offered a higher price initially before mentioning Talk Talk's £6.99 deal(didnt want to go with that lot though:rotfl:)0 -

Agreed. But nobody has confirmed that the lower prices are for connection to ADSL2+ and up to 20Mb broadband speeds, but I am hoping somebody can.

I did a speedtest on Friday whilst on phone to BT and was getting 10mbps. Assuming upgrade has now gone ahead (since it was due today my usage limit now shows unlimited) and speedtest just now was 11mbps. Those are rough measurements, but if I put my number into BT it estimates me getting 17.0 -
As far as im aware, my speed is the up to 20mb version. Im not techical though and I have never checked myself, but thats what the engineer said when he came to fix a fault a few months ago.
Im so so pleased that its helped people!!0 -
I did mention speed, but as I only get about 0.5mbps max, don't see this being a huge factor, and I know we won't get Infinity either.
One thing he did emphasise was the need to use the landline for calls at least twice a month (not difficult to do I would have thought) but something to be aware of.0 -

i rung BT yesterday, asked how long i had to go on contract as S.. was emailing me with great deals, within seconds went from £34 a month down to £23 and on a 12 month contract (includes line rental) and can save an extra £3 a month by paying 12 months line rental in advance £120 and getting e bills0

Syko, yes understand this. Was just wondering if the OPs were being offered the adsl2+ i.e speeds greater than 8Mb (and up to 20Mb) at these prices or the lower spec adslmax (up to 8Mb) given the low charges mentioned on this thread.
JamesUTake every day as it comes!!0 -
well my speed went from under 6 meg before i got discount, did speedtest yesterday and it was 17 meg:j
Thanks for this, was keen to see if OPs were actually receiving the higher speeds for definite at these prices, but no doubt on this now. Looks like you were switched from ADSLmax (think this is capped at 8Mb) to ADLS2+ (up to 24 Mb) when you renewed your contract. Pleased you have a good upgrade, well done.
