Hi guys,
I too was displeased to receive my latest bill from BT stating my monthly direct debit would increase from £24 to £39. I have line rental weekend/evening calls included and option 1 broadband. Call costs for the quarter was a few pence over £14.
Did a quick search on here before calling them and found this thread; just called and got option 1 reduced to £5 per month from £15.50 on a 12 month contract.:T
Thanks very much for your help; it is much appreciated!
Kind regards,

Another happy customer here: Paid line rental upfront and now paying a smaller monthly charge (£13, not the best quoted here) for an upgrade to Option 3 and Anytime calls.
Since we have only just had our quarterly bill which will still be debited we should be in credit to BT for a few months. Now changed to monthly billing to avoid such large bills.0 -
I called them yesterday having been with them for over four years and got my option 1 reduced to £5.00 a month from £15.99.
BT Option 1 is the same as Plusnet value. Has anyone tried Plusnets "beat any price" promise?0 -
Thanks to the original poster of this, managed to get our costs down to £23 (Unlimited anytime calls and option 3 BB) a month including line rental and £30 install of a new line when we move!
Thanks very much!0 -

Anybody know if the reduced prices on this thread on option 3 costing around £9.99/mth are with the ADSL max (up to 8Mb) or ADSL2+ (up to 20Mb)?

Depends if your exchange has been enabled for BT adsl2+

If your exchange is enabled then the package will be adsl2+. If not then it will be adsl max.0 -

Syko, yes understand this. Was just wondering if the OPs were being offered the adsl2+ i.e speeds greater than 8Mb (and up to 20Mb) at these prices or the lower spec adslmax (up to 8Mb) given the low charges mentioned on this thread.

Woo Hoo, just got option 3 for £10 per month. Paid upfront years line rental £120 i.e. £10 per month equivalent.
Had to mention that I was thinking of moving over to Orange (have a pay as you go mobile), and they were very keen to offer me the revised price.
Gives me exactly what I want which is unlimited broadband with evening and weekend calls thrown in.0 -
So glad I've found this thread. Had BT Option 1 for £15.99, the contract has expired, and I received a number of calls from BT to extend the contract for £12.99 a month. Thanks to this thread, I just called them and renewed for £5.00 a month!
Really happy, thanks to everyone here. Would have gone to Plusnet otherwise...

You'll get the best speed available on your exchange. So, if it's ADSL2 enabled, you'll get ADSL2+ speeds. No free lunch, and no free laptop0
