  • Went to Tesco, Sainsbury's and ASDA today to see if they had any great reductions on their Christmas stuff. No luck on the Christmas food - Sainsbury's had stuff reduced to 50% but had hardly anything there, Tesco and ASDA had loads of stuff but still at the pre-Christmas prices e.g. tins of Quality Street/Roses £4/£5, which I realise is a good price, but I was hoping for better after our turkey success on Christmas Eve :D We did manage to get 4 pizzas from the ASDA pizza counter which were reduced to 30p and 40 each though, so they made worth the trip out worthwhile.

Good point about New Year's Eve! Anyone know when chocolates/biscuits/sweet and any other Christmas food is usually reduced?

We were actually rather lucky this morning.

Went into Tesco when they opened, due to being near work, and they had a couple of turkeys left from Friday which were 75% off. Also got some Sea Bream at 75% for when we cook for the neighbours over New Year and some assorted Deli Ham stuff.

Incidentally - While I try to not to get annoyed if I see people taking an 'unfair' amount of reductions as i don't know their personal circumstances I do think the person who took 12! large turkeys was taking the Michael a little.

I did my Christmas main shop on the Wedneday -Usually I don't go near shops on Christmas Eve but needed a couple of bits-Went to my local ex Somerfield now Co-Op about 10am-not crowded-lots of woopsies and to my surprise open delivery slots so I bought more than I planned and walked home via a few other stores and it was all delivered three hours later. Simples.
