I remember in Waitrose last year there were trollies about 12 deep on every checkout. It was complete madness; the likes of, i have never seen before!0

I will prob get the non perishables in the few days before Christmas and get Bread etc. early on the 24th.
I have a couple of the Morrisons £4 porky joints in the freezer already.
I dread the thought of grocery shopping because you Pick the wrong time and it's gridlocked with trolleys packed up to the ceiling!!!!0 -
The supermarkets are always full of bargains by 3pm on Christmas Eve......which is fine if you're happy to get what is available rather than what you actually want.
This year I shall be luxuriating under sunny skies so I won't care where my next meal comes from!Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

i did it once [last year] never never ever again:eek: - i was there at 2 pm to see if there were any bargains- the shelves were empty and people were so short tempered. this year we are going to sainsburys next tuesday for a lot of the stuff and ive an asda delivery booked for the 21st .
op if you go at 3-30 the shelves will be bare. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
I will be doing my full Xmas grocery shop at around 2am on Xmas eve morning...because that's when my wages will clear!! I'm not expecting it to be quiet! I'll bring a list and try and get whats on it, if i can't get a fresh turkey we'll have to settle for something else. Who knows it might save me money if they don't have everything. A bit worried I may buy too many 'treats' in a panic so the list will be good. I doubt they'll be anything reduced at that stage.0

Last year I went to Asda at 8 am on Christmas eve and it was quiet with loads of checkouts on.
However, the previous year I went at 11 am and it was an absolute nightmare. It was packed and the shelves were emptying quickly so the aisles were blocked with those carts that staff use to stack the shelves. The queues at checkout were huge and so also blocked the aisles. People were quite good humoured but I was exhausted when I got home.0 -
My excuse for not going shopping Christmas Eve is that I have to wait in for the turkey delivery. So I go the day before which is always heaving, however early you get to the shop.0

I don't know when i'm going yet but i'm dreading it. Hoping to finish work an hour earlier one night & go then but no doubt it will be hell.Marrying the man of my dreams - 10th September 2012, St Paul's Bay Lindos :j0
