Just back from Tesco...all fresh turkeys and turkey crowns were reduced to about 30% of original price. Flying off the shelves. Got several crowns to put in the freezer.
Ducks and Geese were also reduced by the same about. Gressingham ducks were only around £3 each!0 -
My wifes work Sainsburys was quite she bagged a free loaf of bread for nowt giving by the store a granary Hovis loaf0

Our local place (Booths) had lots of turkeys left - shame the staff decided to have them!
Also as someone who hates wasted food I died a little to see the bags and bags of bread being thrown into the bin.0 -
We went to Tesco this afternoon, not knowing what to expect after reading the mixed experiences on here, the car park seemed looked really busy but actually there were plenty of spaces quite close to the store.
We were just looking at the turkeys (having been to our local butchers but who still wanted £20 for a 2.5 kg free-range, turkey roll) when a lovely member of staff told us to hang about as they would be reducing them all by about 80% "shortly". My OH then took up residence and waited whilst I went around and gathered the other bits we needed and at about 2.15 they started reducing all the meat. The Finest Free-Range and Organic turkeys were reduced from around £30 to about £6 and they reduced turkey rolls (unfortunately not free-range), which were originally priced £10, to 80p!!!!! They reduced £12 ducks to £1.50! Right place, right time..... They didn't last long, although people seemed to be ignoring the Finest and Organic ones strangely, even at £5-6 each! So we bought a few - should last us a while! :j0 -

I popped into the local Tesco today at about 5pm and it was busy. I bought my veg at a grocer's back home and all I needed were yorkshire puddings, milk and some bread. I managed to get these from Iceland because Tesco was a nightmare!
They had reduced all the turkeys down to £13 odd or something and reduced some of them again down to £5. There were customers expecting their turkeys to be reduced again but the reduction girl didn't appear and do it for them. Greedy gits lol.Competition Wins:

I went to Tesco yesterday at 4pm and got a lot of reduced fruit & veg....everything was down to under 10p a pack, some of them 5p. I got half a dozen of these daft microwave packs of broccoli, three packs of Rooster baking spuds, cabbage, sweetcorn etc etc, a pineapple, melon and some tubs of salad. There was no meat reduced which was just as well because my two freezers are stuffed already but they were reducing most of the fish on the fresh fish counter by up to 90%. So the cats got a nice piece of salmon for their Christmas treat. (I'm so generous with my 50ps, lol.) I also noticed that they'd reduced their boxes of Christmas Selection chocolates from £6 to £2,50, so picked up three for extra emergency presies.
Not great reductions but worth half an hour out the house anyway. They were stripping down the main Christmas display shelves when I was there btw so I think I'll pop up tomorrow morning to see what's what. I like a chance to get out the house for a wee while, but I'm not interested in the main sales just yet, not on Boxing Day! A lot of folk will be back at work on Monday so hopefully the crowds will be less.Val.0 -
Don't let zenseeker see this post - he had a go at me for posting in a similar vein at 11pm last night! He asked if it was helpful, presumably as Tesco had shut by the time I posted - your delay in posting is 12 hours later than mine.
Remember that you may get similar reductions on New Years Eve, but some people cannot think of that.:eek:0
