Generally the supermarkets close at 16.00 hours on Xmas Eve."If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools"
Extract from "If" by Rudyard Kipling0 -
Believe me any shop will be horrendous on xmas eve because people think Ooo ile go shopping early to get it over with in the morning, which in our store meant queing to get into store carpark miles up the road, no trolleys left, no baskets, queues at the tills and that was at 6am. Customers swearing at staff, chucking there food on an already overloaded conveyor belt so it packs up under the strain of all the weight of there beers, lottery going down, phone top ups going down and that doesnt include customers ranting that they want cashback not knowing so have thousands of other customers and theres not cash left to dish out so try the cash machines. People hasseling us on our breaks to get them an obscure product weve never heard of, but oh that dont matter that we dont get paid for our breaks as long as they get the quails eggs for there xmas breakfast along with the fois gras lmao. KEEP AWAY. I wish they did close at 4pm ours shuts at 7pm0

personally i think christmas eve should be a bank holiday as well,
It wouldn't do any good if you worked in a supermarket, the customers would just go mad a day earlier. I've seen what they are like on xmas eve just because the supermarket will be shut for 2 days, Imagine what they would be like if it was going to be shut for 3 days!0 -
The one i work in is only shut one day. It closes 7pm on xmas eve then its open again boxing day (Sunday). People going mad already, stockpiling there store cupboards. Spending £100s just for one day.0

It may sounds crazy, but it's human nature. Tell them that supermarkets will be closed for 2 or 3 days and they will panic.
I'm sure most people could easily survive for at least 2 weeks on what they have in the house.0 -

Last Christmas Eve, our Christmas dinner arrangements had dropped through and I struggled to get a chicken from anywhere!
Derby Tesco Metro (in the city centre) was rammed and there were 3 cabinets full of reduced food. I managed to snag a few packets of mince for 30p each.
The store is closed Christmas Day and Boxing Day though so customers tend to get a bit... mad!Competition Wins:
