how many garages do this on a daily basis???
i think if the garage owner is reading this they will have a fairly good idea it is them being discussed!
(they just might also be expecting a visit from the polis)The difference between genius and stupidity is that genius has its limits0 -

Because if JoeBloggs Garage of Townsville wants to find out what his customers are saying about him he would put "Joebloggs garage of Townsville" into google and see what comes up. It's unlikely he would search for "Garage takes my wheels".0 -

The 'tip off" would be that he had forewarning that he possibly commited a crime and that the police had been called. And of course he would be able to get information about what his adversary (the OP) was going to do next.
If he did this act knowing it could be seen as a crime he would be very stupid, that doesn't mean he didn't expect the police to be called. Of course the tip off would have very limited value to the garage. But IMHO it's best to keep these sorts of discussions private so that your adversary does not see your discussions. These discussions give a window into your persona, and your knowledge, your determination (or lack of) and the counter arguments against you and what your next move will be.0 -
I don't think someone stupid enough to remove parts from a car in the small hours, in a fully liveried up van, is clever enough to work the internet? lol0

An Astra has a beam axle with coils springs, and on some models the shock top mount is in the boot! OP said his is an estate which can come off from below.
Still like to see a photo though!;)
It's a torsion beam, although it's got coil springs as well, if you drop both the trailing arms at once, it damages it.
Depends on the year and type of assembly, some estates had a ride height adjustment as well.0 -
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::cool:SCOUSERS JOIN FERRARI
"The Ferrari F1 team fired their entire pit crew yesterday."
This announcement followed Ferrari's decision to take advantage of the British government's 'Work for your Dole' scheme and employ some Liverpudlian youngsters.
The decision to hire them was brought about by a recent documentary on how unemployed youths from Toxteth were able to remove a set of wheels in less than 6 seconds without proper equipment, whereas Ferrari's existing crew could only do it in 8 seconds with millions of pounds worth of high tech equipment.
It was thought to be an excellent, bold move by the Ferrari management team as most races are won and lost in the pits, giving Ferrari an advantage overevery other team.
However, Ferrari got more than they bargained for! At the crew's first practice session, not only was the scouse pit crew able to change all four wheels in under 6 seconds but, within 12 seconds, they had re-sprayed, re-badged and sold the car to the Mclaren team for 8 cases of Stella, a bag of weed and some photos of Lewis Hamilton's bird in the shower.0 -

Diggerman just come across this thread that we were talking about before Christmas but there doesn't seem to be anything about what happened in the end.
Have you gone into hiding 'cos the garage is after you ?Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
What it may grow to in time, I know not what.
