Ignore Economic Influences To Your Own Market That Do Not Fit In To Your Own Particular Way Of Thinking Board
Sums it up for me & fits in very well with the OPs recent history.
Not Again0 -
YesIt should be split into one thread called "Debate the Economy", and another called "Sad thread for anoraks who want to post every web article ever produced on house prices".
That way, we could avoid this tedious nonsense. A month in House Price terms, is probably the equivalent of about a year in Stock Market terms. Now anyone stupid enough to watch the FTSE go up 125 points (like it did today) and start predicting it will be 8,000 by Christmas, or 5,200 by January 15th would qualify to be committed to Broadmoor.
-We have had a general Financial crisis.
-House prices have dropped.
-Property is a very long term investment (and a place to live).
-They will rise again in the longer term.
Live with it, and get a life.0 -

What's so funny? you may be asking.
The description that you believe it's a "skill" you have.
LOL, thanks, I'll be chuckling all day at that one:wall:
What we've got here is....... failure to communicate.
Some men you just can't reach.

YesInteresting that almost two thirds think that there is a decent debate in here.:wall:

It is, it's a "Special Skill", in School speak.0 -
The first rule of the School of Devonian Economics is to argue with anyone you perceive to have a different opinion, no matter what they say or what point they are making.
GD will be professor emeritus one day, but we are all guilty of doing it from time to time. What about "Argue about House Prices, Try and Debate About the Economy but Eventually Just Argue, and Some Bloke Going On About Silver"?

Both the above are in the running for lemonjellys truest post of 2010 competition...
My tuppence worth. Instead of renaming the board, why doesn't every regular get a new username & we can have our own advent calendar style try to work out who is who?:DIt's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0
