Debate House Prices & the Economy
It's interesting that Debate is in italics, maybe it was foresight, but I rarely see a good debate in here

What we've got here is....... failure to communicate.
Some men you just can't reach.

YesYes.
There's nothing to debate anymore. House prices aren't going anywhere. Recession, credit crunch, downturn, house price crash... it's all over, it was years ago.
Hasn't been any need for debate in here for many months. It's just a troll club now.0 -
Yeah, the debate is over. The crash came and ended in 2008. All we're left with is a few trolls and those who still desperately cling to the hope of meaningful nominal falls.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. How about the foum of Devonian economics.
Where you simply have to disagree with anyone you perceive to be a "bull", no matter their point.0 -
NoMaybe, Argue over House Prices and Debate the Economy'In nature, there are neither rewards nor punishments - there are Consequences.'0

NoDevonian economics.

a "bull", no matter their point.
The first rule of the School of Devonian Economics is to argue with anyone you perceive to have a different opinion, no matter what they say or what point they are making.

Maybe, Argue over House Prices and Debate the Economy
Sounds a pretty accurate description to me.
It's a shame, somewhere to have a proper debate is a good thing, but this forum has degenerated into a conglomeration of arguments, trolls and lame attempts at verbal oneupmanship where some users seem to only want to compete to find the most extreme articles from the media that "support" their point of view0 -

How about we keep the name and add the tagline, "Don't feed the troll."
And ban that ghoul pillock at the same time?I am not really an Eskimo. I can hear what you're thinking... "Inuit!"0 -

To be fair, I save the skills soley for ISTL, Really2, and Hamish.
Hamish is a tricky one, he either dissapears, or gives it back large, to the point I have no manouvering space
Really2, well, could create pages out of that. Start arguing about nominal or real, end up arguing about whether sheep have different colour eyes or not. I imagine a vein in the forehead growing bigger and bigger as the posts go on
In all seriousness, you can try to start a topic for debate, but it really depends on the person who started the topic as to how the debate on that topic will go. I've tried posting up positive articles aswell as negative, and reporting just basic every day stuff I see. Every thread goes the same way pretty much. Most are as bad as each other, it's a name thing, and no matter what the topic, it has to be disagreed, and it doesn't matter how it's disagreed either.0
