Plenty of Cardiff in Gavin and Stacey - especially the scenes which involve them driving - I've recognised A48 and M4. One scene from the Christmas special was supposed to be in Essex, the Waitrose in the background gave it away as Pentwyn.

They've been filming recently in Manchester's Northern Quarter for the new film Captain America (bbc linky) because it apparently resembles 1940s Brooklyn.

Hmmmm, I'm still not really finding anything that makes Manchester look good! :rotfl:

ETA. Oooh, oooh, I've remembered. Much of Life on Mars was of course filmed around here

Belton House near Grantham was used as Rosings Park in the Colin Firth/Jennifer Ehle (BBC) version of Pride and Prejudice. The Old Vicarage in Teigh, Rutland (a Bed & Breakfast) was used as Mr Collin's vicarage in the same version...

Burghley House in Stamford was used as Rosings Park in the Keira Knightley film version of P&P!

Can't remember off the top of my head but I'm sure someone will give the name of the actual film (Think it was "The World is not Enough"), anyway one of the James Bond films had bits filmed in Swindon at the former Motorola building.

I was going to mention that. Also bits of Sherlock Holmes and the remake of Alfie were filmed in the NQ.

Erm... the Natwest advert on at the moment shows bits of Spinningfields and one of the new trams... exciting...!

The Ian Brown video for 'Stellify' was filmed around the city centre last year, some of it was going on near my flat.

Loads of stuff has been filmed in Manchester, why can't I think of anything but these?!

Forgot to say that Lincoln Cathedral was used in The Da Vinci code as a "double" of Westminster Abbey.

(and we spent our wedding night in the same room that Ron Howard had stayed in during the filming. My husband was less impressed that he'd stayed in the same room as Richie Cunningham from Happy Days )

Lots of period drama's have been filmed at Chatsworth House http://www.chatsworth.org/ most recently The Duchess and The Wolfman.

Someone mentioned in an earlier post about the Thurrock being in 4 weddings and a funeral.

Well the bridge popped up in the New Harry Potter film, Deathly Hallows pt 1.
When Hagrid was going through the tunnel with Harry at the beginning (upside down) the red bus said Dartford and you could see the bridge as they flew out!

I live a sheltered life!
