Yes I smoke, big deal, I dont drink, and that is far more dangerous, I wonder if any of you have ever done anything you know looking back at was wrong? I have explained on here that we wont be doing it again, so surely you should be happy that telling others would maybe help the planet just a little bit more?
Yes, I was taught littering was illegal at school, but stupidly and naively just thought cigarettes just degraded into the ground. I KNOW IT IS STUPID.
Talk about being accepting of others, it's not like I am smoking in your faces or anything! Just merely trying to help others!
So does dog cr*p eventually, should we just let our dogs cr*p in the streets based upon that excuse, I know, lets change the law so you can throw your biodegradable rubbish anywhere you want0 -

Littlemadam83 wrote: »Hi guys,
We have just recieved a fine today of £75.00 as my husband was seen throwing a butt from his car. Not very money saving at all!
We are obviously going to pay it, and reading about it I do understand why they are doing so, but just never occurred that people dropping Macdonalds litter getting fined, let alone a cigarette butt!!!
So am just warning anyone who has this bad habit like us to think twice before throwing it out the window!!
good - it p..sses me off when I see people doing this - cars do come with ashtrays you know!0 -

Bad manners - yes, I suppose so looking at it now, but am I the only one that does it? If anything I have posted on here to a) help people realise that it is actually classed as littering, and b) to stop people getting the same fate.
If I was the only person doing it then villify me, but exactly what percent of cigarettes end up in a bin?
I also hate that common protest - "I'm not the only". Of course you are not the only one doing it but that doesn't mean you should not be fined if caught doing it!
I am amazed that you think you need to point out to people that it is classed as littering - anyone with half a brain would realise that.0 -
I commute to work on a Vespa every morning, and have never had an issue with cigarette butts, not that it wont happen. What is more dangerous to me however is when people use their windscreen spray and it goes straight over their car and into my eyes. That stuff burns!0

Sorry to hear about that, it is easy to just forget to dispose of it properly - i always keep a half full bottle of water in the car to put my cigarette out in gross i know but i would rather that than the fine.
Although on the opposite side of things its unfair that dog owners never pick up the "mess" they leave behind so it is there for people to tread in, i even seen one do it in front of a copper who did nothing about it so i asked him why, he said that apparently they cant hand out fines for it only dog wardens can, madness! I consider dog fouling to be much more of an annoyance than a cigarette butt ok its still not nice but at least you dont have to scrape it off your shoes for what seems like hours after making the trek home smelling of poop!
I'm a dog owner and I always pick up my dogs waste, that seems to be a very sweeping statement you have made. If you are caught littering or not picking up your dogs waste, you will be fined, if you want to risk it, you have to risk the chance of a fine I'm afraid.:heart2: Newborn Thread Member :heart2:
