Hi guys,
We have just recieved a fine today of £75.00 as my husband was seen throwing a butt from his car. Not very money saving at all!
We are obviously going to pay it, and reading about it I do understand why they are doing so, but just never occurred that people dropping Macdonalds litter getting fined, let alone a cigarette butt!!!
So am just warning anyone who has this bad habit like us to think twice before throwing it out the window!!

That's fair enough, but however many people do know, I am sure there are just as many that don't and are as naive as me!0

Is about naivety, or basic good manners? I would not dream of dropping a cigarette, or any other litter.Gone ... or have I?0 -

ignorance isnt an excuseReplies to posts are always welcome, If I have made a mistake in the post, I am human, tell me nicely and it will be corrected. If your reply cannot be nice, has an underlying issue, or you believe that you are God, please post in another forum. Thank you0 -

Yes you're right, smoking is not very moneysaving!
And he deserved the fine. The Googlewhacker referance is to Dave Gorman and not to my opinion of the search engine!

Oh my goodness, I never said it was an excuse! We are paying it! I am not arguing about it or anything. I have just never heard of anyone being fined for littering, and there is a lot worse than cigarette butts.
Bad manners - yes, I suppose so looking at it now, but am I the only one that does it? If anything I have posted on here to a) help people realise that it is actually classed as littering, and b) to stop people getting the same fate.
If I was the only person doing it then villify me, but exactly what percent of cigarettes end up in a bin?0 -

That is a pretty childish excuse!Gone ... or have I?0 -
There have been a few cases locally, published in the paper, of people fined for that hereabouts actually.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

I was taught you could get fined for littering (because it's a crime) back in primary school, and I left there in 1996.0

yes im sure other people have been fined for doing so, obviosuly there cant be someone watching every single person who could drop litter so some will slip the net0
