Good point Misstress, your post made me remember I have 2 MSE usernames (forgot one of them at one point!). Both were registered pre-2010, however I received the dodgy email at the address where I get the weekly emails but not at the other address, where I'm not signed up. Hmmm!

I received an email to Frantic Female at an email address I don't use for MSE, plus I don't have a user name Frantic Female.

Whoever FF is she(?) has only 2 posts, and got a very strange reply from on the posts made, very confusing I'm obviously missing something.

So that's 2 then, might be looking like people who receive weekly emails only got the spam email?

Anyone else care to confirm if they have not signed for the weekly mail and not received the dodgy email?

I have'nt signed up for the weekly emails, nor have i received anything like this before, ( i have received an email, but not sure how dodgy it is ). Let mse decide.

I get the weekly email on a different account to my forum email (actually an old address)

I got the spam to my old address (forum)... although that address probably was used for weekly emails at one point, I've used the new one for a good year.

daughter gets the weekly email and did receive the spam email
son doesn't subcribe to the weekly email and didn't get the spam email

looking above at post #704 nohope doesn't get the weekly email but did get the spam email (and has only been a member for 2 months)
