filled in the online court papers, but still no reply from HALIFAX should i give them a ring or do the fourth letter please help its almost £4,000 they owe me.
thankyou for your patiants. capua
If you've issued a court claim. You don't have to write to the bank anymore. Just wait and see what response the bank will give to the court claim. How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

Sent off my first letter claiming all charges on the 11th Jan and stated on letter they had received it on the 15th. I sent recorded delivery and according to the Post Ofiice was delivered on the 12th.
Basic standard letter saying a Customer Relations Manager is looking into the points raised and i will recieve a reply shortly, but certainly no later than 4 weeks.
Well im sorry, you only have about 10 days remaining before the second letter.
Do i wait 14 days from the 12th or the 15th incase letter has been passed on to the correct department.
Thanks0 -
load of rubbish they can't go back that far. I requested mine on 27th december and they arrived on 2nd january. all 42 envelopes through the past. Don't take any nonense. Also I paid the £5.00 over the phone:A Tomorrow's just another day - keep smiling0

well done you.
Am sure I read on one of the thread it takes about 10 days, but don't quote me on that.:A Tomorrow's just another day - keep smiling0 -
Wrote in December to reclaim charges with interest. Reply said no. Wrote in January to say would they make me an offer. Reply said ''it is necessary to carry out a full investigation.' Spoke to them and they said my initial letter was not logged as 'a complaint' but as 'an enquiry!' They said the 'with interest letter' (taken from MSE) was not the usual formatted letter they were receiving from other people reclaiming charges and this is why it was not logged as a complaint!!! BE WARNED!
So my 'complaint' only began with my 'make me an offer or I take you to court letter' from January. Halifax have now told me the FSA gives them 8 weeks (1st March) to investigate my complaint but they will write to me in 4 weeks to let me know how it's going! Gee, thanks Halifax.
Am I being fobbed off?
Should I wait or is it ok to go ahead with court proceedings?
I've read on the court website that if you don't attempt to settle via alternative means (e.g. ombudsman) then you might not get your court charges back? Is this true? Working Lunch TV programme showed people suceeding in getting bank charges back via the ombudsman. Which is best/easiest, court or ombudsman? Help!!!
Thought this would be simpler. Just want MY money back - NOW!
Think I am about to get the same run around from Alliance & Leicester (waiting on a call back, hmmmm within 3 hours apparently.....)
Paranoia-friends have had charges repaid after just one simple letter to bank, why not me????0 -
Hi everyone great advice and i have started my claim, but i have a small problem
my stack of statements arrived yesterday all neatly banded together and I worked out the charges to a little over £600 and sent of my first letter.
anyway this morning another envelope arrives containing a few more pages form the statements this had 12 more charges! (a bit suspect that this was seperate)
can i just send another letter asking them to disregard the first or hope the turn down the first and i just update my second letter to include the £900 claim?
thanks in advance and i cant waitthis money will really sort me out

has anyone had their bank account closed for claiming back bank charges as i will find it really difficult to open a new account with my poor credit history, im with the halifax. I have already requested my statements from them.0

I had similar problem with Halifax who sent me info from a second account, that I didn't request, 3 times. I sent them a letter threatening to report them to Information Commisioner Office and they sent out the correct statements in about a week!0

My 40 days expired on Christmas eve and I have only received about 1/3 of the statements. I think they are mucking us about. I am going to list the missing items in a letter and follow it up with a phonecall tomorrow.0
