halifax bank charges (merged)

I didn't want to start a new thread so hopefully someone will answer in here please.
I persuaded a non MSE friend of mine to reclaim their bank charges with Halifax and they duely sent off the MSE letter asking for the past 6 years worth of statements. Within days Halifax sent back statements but only for for the past 2 years.
They sent another letter to Halifax saying that they had asked for the past 6 years and guess what? Halifax sent the last 2 years statements again.
Another letter has gone off today to the Halifax but I was wondering if anyone else has experienced the same thing and if so what did they do.
Many thanks in advance for any replies.0 -

This is the exact same thing that has happened to me.
I have been given various excuses for this:
- error when order was made
- records don't go back far enough
- delay due to Bank Holidays
- systems problems
I have been waiting 3 1/2 months :mad:0 -
Hi there!
The Halifax finally caved in to my demands, the same day as I decided that I would take them to court, so that was lucky!
They've offered to pay me my full amount of £700, so I filled in the form and popped it off in the post on tuesday, out of interest, how long does it take for them to process this and finally credit your account?0 -
Hello,
Does anyone know if you need to pay £10 per individual account when requesting old statements. For example between my husband and i we have 5 accounts with Halifax, can i put all of the statement requests in the same envelope going to the same address with one cheque?. I doubt it but is there any kind of loop hole here?:j0 -

Just include all the account numbers on the same letter. One letter, and one £10 payment is enough to cover all the accounts for each of you.How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

Received similar letters to capua today from Sainsburys Bank and Tesco Personal Finance basically refusing to repay charges on my credit cards. I am thinking of making a phone call to both before I go for the jugular and make the claim in the County Court.0

I had been banking with Halifax for almost 13 years and probably have a few charges in that time. But I hadn't been happy with their service for a long time so moved to Nationwide about a year ago.
Can I still go to Halifax to reclaim bank charges? or would this mean they are more likely to take me to court because I am no longer a customer of theirs?
Thanks

Just spoken to Tesco Personal Finance Limited, still adamant that their charges are just and in accordance with their Terms & Conditions. So off

It's the same process to claim off a closed account. You wont be treated any differently because you are no longer a customer. How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?
