Quick question for you all. where do i send the 2nd letter to giving them another 7 days to respond before i start court proceedings? i have to do this on tues. i sent the first letter to my loacl branch who sent me a letter back stating it had been passed onto their customer relations department but i don't have an address for them. does anyone have this?
thanks0 -
Just posted a letter giving them one last chance to pay up before I start court proceedings. They offered £565 when I claimed £725 but with interest its more like £836. So after reading people who had haggled up a bit more on the telephone etc it proves how they really don't want the hassel of going to court. So rejected their offer saying I still believed the charges were unfair etc and how I had been a loyal customer for 10 years etc. And giving them 14 more days. If they just offer me slightly closer to the ammount the took from me I will accept. Wish me luck!I will be rich :rotfl:0

hi misskitty
I have worded up my letter already for Monday morning. This is my second letter also. I have used the following address:
Customer Relations
PO Box 548
LEEDS
LS1 1WU
Am hoping this is correct. My local branch didn't state the address either but when I rang them they said that this is the correct address.
You can check, but if it's incorrect would you be kind enough to let me know.
Many thanks and good luck Miss Kitty.:A Tomorrow's just another day - keep smiling0 -

Thanks. That seems to be the correct one. I went into branch and asked this afternoon though they got rather shirty with me when I closed down my savings account with them and stated "let me guess you're another one of those people trying to get your bank charges back which you signed a contract for...blah blah blah so its your fault you got them in the first place and we have done nothing wrong" which is true but most of the time I have been charged its been £39 for going overdrawn by a few pence or pounds which I don’t think is fair and I intend to fight them all the way for my money back if they are going to defend it.0 -
Hi all,
Just to let you know I've got the standard 'no' back from the Halifax in response to my first request using the letter on this site, time for next letter (Step 4) now, I'll keep you posted, claiming £535 in charges over last 6 years, no interest.

So far we have only received 2 years of statements back from the Halifax. The charges from 04-present are £4220 without interest (£4596.08 with). Can we proceed to claim for this amount & then make another claim for the other 4 years once thoses statements arrive? We are not expecting the charges to be any where near as huge on these statements but we are concerned that it will go over the small claims amount of £5000.0

You can make a second claim but you are much more likely to have your account closed.
Have a read of this thread regarding claims of more than £5,000

Right i have had my 1st reply saying that they were sorry i felt these charges were wrong and that they would be in contact within 4 weeks to discuss the matter further.
Problem is my online banking isnt working so i would assume they have suspended this. would they also have freezed my account?? has anyone else
had their account freezed??
Would it be wise to open another account with a different bank??0
